Das, Organic rearrangement reactions by S. N. Sanyal, Stereochemistry by Subrata Sengupta or D. Nasipuri, Spectroscopy by W. Kemp, Physical Chemistry by R. Chatterjee. problem solving books like Amalendu Ghosal. you can also follow arihant IIT JAM chemistry solved papers

National Eligibility Test Exam is conducted by UGC.
PG candidates who are giving their final exams or waiting for results are eligible.
But they will become a Junior Research Fellowship or Assistant Professor after passing
PG only.
Required marks for general categories is 55% and others 50 %.
Candidates should submit their PG mark sheets within two years from the date of the
NET exam's result, failing candidates will be disqualified.

Hello,
You can not apply for UGC NET Exam because to apply for Exam you need to have minimum qualification, the master's degree.

The UGC NET exam is conducted for the assistant professor and junior research fellowship in the nation universities and institutes. It is the national level exam which was held twice a year.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: The candidates must have post graduation degree with minimum 55% marks from recognized university.

Age Limit:
There is no age limit for the assistant professor but for the junior research fellow, candidates must be below 30 years old.

To know more about the eligibility criteria for the UGC NET Exam, you must check the official website. all the best for the future ahead.

Re: Can I give SET/NET exam after passing BSc (Chemistry)

You are not eligible to apply for the NET, having PG is eligible to write Net Exam.

One who wants to apply for National Eligibility Test

Candidate should complete their Pg.
Candidate who is doing final year can apply for the NET exam.
Candidate should have Indian citizenship.
With required marks from approved University or college.
To the general category 55%, 50% for SC/ST category has given by UGC.
There is no any requirement in age to become a lecturer.
But age requirement is there to be a junior in a research center.

Required Age to be a junior researcher
general category - 28 years
OBC - 31 years
SC/ST - 33 years

Re: Can I give SET/NET exam after passing BSc (Chemistry)

Considering the marks you have obtained in post graduation course, it is definitely possible for you to apply for the National Eligibility Test. To apply for the National Eligibility Test, your graduation degree is irrelevant.

I mean that the marks in graduation is not considered. Neither the subject will be based on your graduation course. All this will depend on your post graduation course.

Now to apply for National Eligibility Test please confirm that you have completed Master of Computer Managment from a recognized college. It should be recognized by the University Grants Commission.

If all is good then wait for the official notification from the University Grants Commission for the next National Eligibility Test. It is going to take place in December 2013. You should start to prepare for the exam as soon as possible.

NET Eligibility

1. NET can be given by Indian citizens only.

2. You should have a valid master's degree.

3. There is requirement of 55 percent marks in the PG degree.

4. SC/ST gets 5% relaxation from University Grants Commission.

5. Final year students are allowed to appear for this exam.

6. But these students have to submit the degree/mark sheet in 2 years time.

7. Your subject is Computer Science and Applications for NET exam.

8. Age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years for General.

9. For OBC the age limit is extended to 31 years.

10. While there is another 2 years relaxation for SC/ST which means 33 years limit.

11. There is no upper age limit if applying for college lectureship.

12. However you should be minimum of 19 years old.

Please remember that the eligibility criteria for State Eligibility Test is same as the National Eligibility Test.

Re: Can I give SET/NET exam after passing BSc (Chemistry)

After B.Sc i.e. Graduation one is not eligible to apply for SET/NET exam as the minimum educational qualification for SET/NET is Post Graduation Degree.

SET/NET - State Eligibility Test/National Eligibility Test conducted by University Grant Commission(UGC) for selection of lecturer and award to Junior Research Fellowship(JRF).

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Post Graduation Degree in any stream with 55% marks(5o% marks for SC/ST candidate) from a recognise University, can apply for SET/NET. There is no upper age limit for thosr applying for Lectureship but those applying for JRF should be within 28 years of age.

Re: Can I give SET/NET exam after passing BSc (Chemistry)

With this qualification, you cannot attend SET/NET exam. Post graduate degree is essential to apply for the same. Candidates can take up any subject to do PG. 55% marks is necessary in PG for this. So, after B.Sc it is essential to do PG to attend SET/NET exam. For more details about this exam, you can refer official site.
