Re: Eligibility to study LLB for a candidate with 38% in Graduation?

I have completed my graduation from the University of Kerala....My mark is 37%....35% marks for passing the degree If such a personal mark is the criterion for any course other than LLB....Why not make the minimum marks of degree 35% to 40%.....I want to study LLB and have a degree....I am in SC category and I have 37% marks but I want 40% marks....If so, what is the value of my degree certificate with 37% marks in my hand?......

As per my knowledge, you are not eligible to study LLB after completing 38% in Graduation.

PERCENTAGE REQUIRED

1. The minimum percentage required in graduation is 45% for open category and 40% for reserved category candidates.

2. There is no upper age-limit for the admission of LLB course.

Eligibility Criteria to study LLB course:

LLB stands for Bachelor in Legislative Law. Candidates should complete graduation in any discipline (B.Sc / B.A/ B.Com) with minimum 40% marks in aggregate for general category students and with minimum 35% marks in aggregate for SC / ST category students.

Candidates need to crack either National or Institute based entrance tests in order to get admission. Some of the entrance tests are as follows:

>> CLAT : Common Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law Universities for admissions to LLB courses.

>> LSAT: Law School Admission Test is a international test and many Indian universities consider its score for LLB admission.

>> AILET: All India Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law University, Delhi.

>>LAWCET : Law Common Entrance Test is conducted by colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh for admission to LLB programs.

*** So, don't worry! You are eligible to apply for LLB course.

Re: Eligibility to study LLB for a candidate with 38% in Graduation?

Most of the colleges admit students for LLB course if they have secured at least following percentage in graduation or 10+2.
  • 45% marks (for General and OBC candidates)
  • 40% marks (for SC candidates)
  • 35% marks (for ST candidates)

As you have scored only 38% marks in graduation, so there is low possibility for you to get admission for LLB course because 40% marks is required in most of the institutes for LLB admission.

Re: Eligibility to study LLB for a candidate with 38% in Graduation?

LLB (Bachelor of Legislative Law) is a graduation level degree. This course has two courses in it. The duration of one course is 3 years and another course is 5 years.

The basic eligibility required for studying 3 years LLB course is a graduation level degree in any related stream with minimum 45% from any recognised university.
There is 5% relaxation given for reservation candidates.

Since you have scored less than 40% in your graduation level degree you cannot study LLB course.
If you have secured good marks in your 12th class education and you are really interested in studying LLB course then choose 5 years course.

The full of LLB is Bachelor of Law.

Eligibility criteria for LLB course:

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year graduation candidates can also apply.

SC/ST candidates should have at least 40% marks in bachelor's degree to apply for LLB admissions.
