Re: What are the circumstances can a company become a subsidiary? Hi, The Reason behind company becomes subsidiary to another company varies from company to company and scenarios. If a giant company enters into a new sector, then they don't have experienced person of that sector , so in many cases they started buying small companies of that sector. So, to buy a company, giant company have to buy all stocks in share market. If all stocks were sold then its a merger of two company and if giant company buy more than 51% of stock then small company become subsidiary of giant company. All the best Regards aroy8091 |
