I have scored 43% in MA in English Literature, can I appear for SET, NET, Mphil or PHD in English literature? If not what is the way out? Can 2 different course like MA in English literature and NET exam results be clubbed for eligibility to do Mphil or PHD? Please help...

I am doing master in history ( private). Can anyone tell me those student doing masters private there marks consider out of 100 or out of 80? Because they don't hv any assessment project.

you are eligible for NET exam but your degree must be from UGC approved university
u have completed masters degree from recognized university eligible for NET exam.
candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NET EXAM


If your masters degree is approved by UGC then you are eligible for NET exam

After MASTER DEGREE , you are eligible for NET exam but your degree must be from UGC approved university.

Those candidate have completed masters degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam.

For general and OBC candidate must be hold 55%above in masters degree. SC/ST candidate must be hold 50% above in masters degree.

Part time course are not eligible for NET exam.

For Junior research fellowship course your age must be in between 19 to 28 years.

For lectureship ,There is no upper age limit but the Minimum age is 19 years.

NET exam is conduct because of govt college lecturer and PHD entrance.

DETAILS ABOUT EXAM DATE

The NET exam date is18-12-2011 But still UGC have not published application brochure .

The application details will be published in 26th September,2011.So you have to prepare well for NET exam.

There are one declaration is announced UGC . No negative Marking in Paper-I and Paper -II exam.

Online form will available after 26th September.

Date of Close of Online Submission: 13-09-2011

Last Date of Receipt of Duly Completed Hard Copy of Online Application Forms: 16-09-2011

eligibility criteria for NET

M.Sc or equivalent degree , with minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates
and 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D.

A candidate can also apply for the Test under RA (Result Awaited) category, if he/she is appearing or has appeared in his/her final year (III/IV Semester where Semester system is there) of M.Sc. or equivalent degree examination . Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature and rubber stamp (with address and name) from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared in the final year M.SC or equivalent degree examination.
However, such candidates shall be admitted to the Test provisionally. They shall only be considered eligible for JRF-(NET)/LS-(NET), if they are able to produce the proof of having passed the Master’s Degree examination in the relevant or related subject with the requisite percentage of marks and within the stipulated time frame.
The Master’s degree can be either in Humanities, Social Science, Computer science, Electronic Science etc.

Yes you are elgible for the exam..
There is No restrictions in number of Attempts in NET Examination Candidates may apply for this examination Number Of times.

i m pursueing MA in english from Jamia Milia Islamia as a private student. Am i eligible to give NET Exam as i am a private student. And i also wanted to knoe how many times can i appear in the said exam if i m eligible. I also fall under the category of OBC, so is there any relaxation for OBC students.I will remain grateful for your help.
