Re: Possibility of appearing for IAS exams without clearing 12th (Intermediate)?

Bachelor degree without having 12th or equivalent is not valid. So, if you have passed bachelor degree from open university without 12th then it is not valid.

For appearing in Civil Service Examination the required eligibility is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university.

Candidates in the final year course are also eligible to appear for the examination.

To get more information about the examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

UPSC conducts Civil Service Examination for recruitment as an I.A.S Officer.

So, to become an I.A.S Officer, you have to appear and qualify in all the stages of Civil Service Examination.

The eligibility to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed or in the final year of bachelor degree course.

So, your bachelor degree without 12th or equivalent degree is not valid and so you are not eligible to appear for examination.

For appearing in the Civil Services examination (often known as IAS or IPS examination), the minimum education required is a graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university.

Now, having completed your graduation degree in distance mode having skipped your Class 12th, your degree is valid for appearing in the Civil Services examination only if your university is approved by UGC for offering such distance education programme.

If the graduation degree that you hold is from recognized institute/college, then you are eligible for IAS Exam (formally called Civil Services Exam).

As you have completed your graduation from Open University. So, if that Open university is recognized by Government then you can apply for UPSC's Civil Services Exam.

Even though you haven't completed 12th standard, you are eligible for Civil Services Exam.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. The examination conducted for services like IAS, IRS, IFS is Civil Services examination. Candidate who have done bachelor's degree in any stream can apply for this examination. The university from which you have done bachelor's degree must be recognized by UGC and DEC for distance courses.

If your university is recognized by both then you can apply for Civil Services examination. The minimum age limit to apply for exam is 21 years.

Possibility of appearing for IAS exams without clearing 12th (Intermediate)?

I have completed my 10th standard and did not completed my 12th standard. Now I have completed my graduation by distance education from an Open University. Am I eligible for IAS exam without completing my 12th standard yet?
