Re: What is the meaning of PCM?

PCM stands for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. If you want to do Engineering in the future then you must select these subjects in your 11th and 12th standard. If you have these subjects in your intermediate then only after your intermediate you will be able to pursue engineering.

Re: What is the meaning of PCM?

The higher secondary school degree with Science stream is basically divided in two parts as discussed below :-

Non medical stream ( PCM group ) :- In this group a student has Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their main subjects in their same degree course.

Medical Stream ( PCB group ) :- In this group a student has all three Physics, Chemistry and Biology as his/her main subjects in the same degree course.

The PCM or PCB group are applicable up to this degree only as for higher studies a student has to select a subject for their studies not a group.

Re: What is the meaning of PCM?

*In senior secondary level of education, there are three streams for doing 10+2:

*Arts stream.

*Commerce stream.

*Science stream: In this there are two divisions. Science stream with Mathematics is called PCM. PCM stands for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Those who want to pursue bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture must take PCM subjects in 11th and 12th.

PCM stands for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There are two subjects group in science stream for 10+2 board exams.

>>PCM group for courses like engineering etc.

>>PCB group which means Physics, Chemistry and Biology for medical courses like MBBS, BDS etc.

If you are interested in pursuing engineering, you can select science stream with PCM subject group. For medical courses, you need to select PCB subject group.

Re: What is the meaning of PCM?

PCM stands for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. It is a Non-Medical Science stream in Higher Secondary course which consists of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.

Admissions in Higher Secondary course are offered mostly on basis of 10th standard board examinations whereas some top schools conducts an entrance examination or admission test to offer admission in 11th standard to merit candidates of the entrance examination.

Candidates who are interested to build their career in Engineering field can opt for Higher Secondary PCM course. After completion of your 11th and 12th standard with PCM stream from a Government recognised board, you can pursue your higher studies in Engineering or Technology related courses.
