1. You can apply either for Civil Services examination or Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level examination for joining Criminal Investigation department or Central Bureau of Investigation as an officer.

2. Bachelor's degree is minimum academic qualification for both exams.

3. Age limit for Civil Services exam is 21-32 years and for Sub Inspector Post in CBI/CID, it is 20-30 years. Reserved category candidates have benefits of reservation in both exams.

After completion of B.Sc degree, you can apply for CID or CBI through SSC CGL exam.

Minimum qualification required to apply for this examination is completing a degree course from a recognized Institution.

Your age should be in between 21 to 27 years.

Age relaxation-

Upper age relaxation for OBC is upto 3 years.
For SC/ ST , it is upto 5 years.
For PWD it is upto 10 years.

One can join CID or CBI through SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination.

CID stands for Criminal Investigation Department and CBI stands for Central Bureau of Investigation.

Eligibility criteria for SSC CGL exam :-

-The education qualification required for this exam is graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

The candidate age limit to apply for this examination should be in between 20 years to 27 years.There is age relaxation for OBC candidates by 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Selection procedure involves of

* Written test.

* Physical test.

* Interview.

The syllabus for the exam consists of Reasoning,English Language,Quantitative Aptitude,General Knowledge and Computer Knowledge

Physical Requirements:-

Height
For male candidate - 165 cms.
For female candidate -150 cms
Height is relaxed for Hill men and Tribals by 5 cms.

Chest : 76 cms with expansion.

Eye-Sight (with or without glasses)
Distant Vision :6/6 in one and 6/9 in other eye.
Near Vision:0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye
