Since you are in the final year therefore even now also you can give this examination.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. This examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

Please Note:- Only Indian Nationals can give this examination. For other civil services still nationals of other countries are allowed but not for this one.

To give the IAS Examination the basic qualification that needs to be satisfied is a graduate degree. You can obtain that degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university. The degree needs to be a valid one.

If someone is in the final year of his/her degree course can apply for and appear in the Prelim Test. But on getting selected when you are going to sit for the Main Examination again then you need submit proof of the qualification.

Age Criteria:-
  • Minimum Age Limit:- 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit:- 30 years

There is relaxation for the following categories:-
  1. SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
  2. OBC Candidates: 3 years
  3. PWD Candidates: 10 years

Number of Attempts:-
  1. General Candidates: 4 attempts
  2. OBC Candidates: 7 attempts
  3. SC/ST candidates: No Limits

The Civil Services Examination is conducted in 3 stages. They are as follows:-
  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Interview

Preliminary Exam At A Glance:-

Paper I -
  1. Current events of national and international importance
  2. History of India and Indian National Movement
  3. Indian and World Geography
  4. Indian Polity and Governance
  5. Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
  6. General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - subject specialization not required.

  2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
  3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability

Yes you are eligible to give the IAS Examination.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. This exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Apart from IAS there are two other civil service examination which UPSC conducts and they are Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service.

To give this examination firstly, you need to be a citizen of India. Secondly, this exam is only for the graduates. So if you possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline of your choice then you are eligible to sit for the IAS Exam.

If you are in the final year of your degree course then also you can apply for the preliminary exam. However if you get selected to give the Main exam then you will have to show your mark sheets then. So since you are in the final year therefore even now you can give this exam.

Your age should not be less than 21 years old when applying for this exam. This is binding on all categories. The upper age limit for the general category candidates is 30 years.

The Civil Services Examination is conducted in 3 stages. They are as follows:-
  • Stage I- Preliminary Examination
  • Stage II- Main Examination
  • Stage III- Interview

For the preliminary exam there will be two papers and mainly objective questions will come in this exam. 200 marks have been allotted for each paper. You will be given two hours to complete the whole paper. The preliminary exam basically is like a screen test which helps in shortlisting candidates for the main examination so its marks are not added with the main exam marks and interview session marks.

Main Exam Pattern At A Glance:-
  • Paper I- 300 marks (Essay, English Comprehension and Precis)
  • Paper II- 250 marks (General Studies-I)
  • Paper III- 250 marks (General Studies-II)
  • Paper IV- 250 marks (General Studies-III)
  • Paper V- 250 marks (General Studies-IV)
  • Paper VI- 250 marks (Paper I-1 Optional)
  • Paper VII- 250 marks (Paper II-1 Optional)

Hope this helps :-> :->

Re: Am I eligible for IAS exam after passing B.Com honors final year?

Yes you are eligible for IAS exam after your B.com honors.

The eligibility criteria requires you to be a graduate from any stream from a recognized board or university. This is not a concern for you now.

But as you have not specified your age i have assumed it to be somewhere between 21 to 30 years, as this is the age limit required to be eligible if you come in general category but for obc it is 21 to 33 and for sc/st it is 21 to 35.

Hope this helps..
