Re: Am I eligible to apply and write the IAS/IPS examination on the basis of B.Tech?

The first thing I would like to let you know is that there is a common examination known as the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year for recruitment of various administrative officers such as IAS,, IPS, IFS, IRS, etc..

Further, the basic educational requirement to apply for the Civil Services examination is a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

So, having completed your B.Tech. degree course which is a bachelor degree course, you are eligible to apply for the Civil Services examination provided you hold qualifications other than educational qualification too.

As per the UPSC Calendar 2020, next Civil Services examination is scheduled to held on 31.05.2019 for which the application can be made between 12.02.2020 to 03.03.2020.

For complete information regarding the Civil Services examination, you can refer to the website www.upsc.gov.in.

Re: Am I eligible to apply and write the IAS/IPS examination on the basis of B.Tech?

The minimum education required to appear in the Civil Services examination (often known as IAS/IPS/UPSC examination) held by UPSC once every year is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

So, having completed your B.Tech. degree course, you are eligible to apply for the Civil Services examination as far as the educational requirement for the same examination is concerned.

Also, the next Civil Services examination is going to be held on 31.05.2020 for which application process will begin in February 2020 and therefore to apply for the same examination, you just need to fill it's online recruitment application form by referring to the official website of UPSC.

For complete details and updates regarding the Civil Services examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.
