CA stands for the Chartered Accountant. There are following eligibility for the CA exam.

^ You will have to crack the CPT exam after completing your 12th from recognized university.

OR
^ You should have a Graduation or post graduation with 55% marks from recognized university.
OR
^ You should have a graduation in Commerce.

If you meet the above eligibility then you can apply for CA course.
You have mentioned that you have a graduation degree with Math from recognized university. Then you are eligible for the CA course.

CA stands for Chartered Accountancy course. To be eligible to pursue CA course, you should have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a Government recognised board or you should have passed Bachelor's degree course in Commerce/ Non-commerce stream from a Government recognised board.

To get admission in CA course, you have to appear and qualify the CPT examination conducted by ICAI. Candidates who have passed Graduation in Commerce stream with 55% aggregate marks or in Non-Commerce stream with 60% aggregate marks from a Government recognised university are eligible to directly for IPCC without appearing in CPT examination.

As per the information you have mentioned in your query, you have secured less than 50% aggregate marks in your Graduation, so, you need to appear and qualify the CPT examination to get admission in CA course.

Yes you are eligible for CA after graduation but you have to clear CPT entrance exam then only you can go for the next stage of CA.

If you have 50% marks in graduation with commerce then you can directly apply for CA IPCC.

CPT is Common Proficiency Test.

Exam Pattern for CPT

Fundamental of Accountancy

Economics

Mercantile Law

Quantitative Aptitude

After clearing CPT test you will have to register with ICAI for the IPCC course. This is the second stage of CA.

There are two groups of IPCC

Group I

Group II

For CA course the minimum qualification required is 10+2 class. After 10+2 qualifying student need to qualify in CPT exam. And after clearing CPT you can go for CA course, which is a duration of 3 years.
Graduate and Post graduate students can also apply for the CPT exam. For that the candidate must have done graduation/ post graduation in commerce with 55% marks other graduates or post graduates with 60% can also apply.
So having marks 40% in graduation you are not eligible for CA course.
