I think you must take arts paper as polity will help you in your law paper in the later stages.

To become a lawyer, you are required to pursue Degree course in Law (i.e; either LLB course or integrated degree course in Law such as BALLB, B.Sc.LLB,etc.).

Further, to pursue either of these courses, one can opt for any stream of his/her interest and as per strength in Class 12th as there is no requirement of a particular stream/subject in Class 12th to be eligible to pursue degree courses in Law.

Further, one can opt for integrated degree course in Law after completion of his/her intermediate degree course while for pursuing LLB degree course, one is required to first complete his/her intermediate degree course followed by graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

Well, I personally would opt for commerce if i was so sure that i would pursue law after my 12th. I am a science student and what I can tell you from my experience is that science course requires a lot of dedication of time and energy. The knowledge you gain is not very relevant in the bigger picture if you are taking law. Taking commerce would make sure that you would have enough time to work on your soft skills which is very important if you are pursuing law as most of the time you are interacting with people and understanding them. Commerce will also help you keep your options open in case you lose your interest in law in the next two years.

Arts is also an option but I believe it offers you less flexibility.

If you really want to do science then go for it. But i personally would not take science if i knew i would take up law. I would definitely go with commerce.

I just want to wish you good luck and hope everything turns out great.

It's very glad to see that You are so ambitious in your goal setting. Coming to the stream to be selected after 10th is not a matter. U can just select any of arts or commerce group. But after that u need to go for selecting the best college for law studies.. like JNU etc...
Universities with extra ordinary staff and providing good placements are best to study law...
