doin mech in goa university.
in uo coment u had advised 2 refer some IES and Oswald publication books for mach GATE.
it wud b nice f u 2 specify the names of d respective conceptual and problm books.
i am still a baby for this kinda exam.....i.e FE sem.
so plzz guide me....

The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours duration which contains 65
questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective
questions. it consists of 35 2 marks question an30 1mark questions
negative marking will be there

The marking scheme is as under:-
Question numbers 1 to 25 are 1 mark questions.
They have a negative marking of 1/3 mark.

Question numbers 26 to 55 are 2 marks questions
They have a negative marking of 2/3 mark.

Four questions, number 52, 53 and 54, 55 are the linked questions
the answer of the second question of the paper depends on the answer of the first question.

The second answer of the pair will be evaluated only when the first one is answered correct. The negative marking is for the first question only as the next question is not going to be evaluated only.

Question numbers 56 to 60 are all 1 mark questions and a negative marking of 1/3 mark.

The last questions are also from general aptitude ,they are of 2 marks
They have a negative marking of 2/3 mark.

for mechanical go with whole syllabus thermodynamics,theory of machine,fluid mechanics,strength of materials,electrical machine ,auto cad,mechatronics..
and mathematics as well as english(verbal)...

Hi everybody.. This is Priya doing M.Tech in Advanced Manufacturing [Integrated-5yrs]. One of my frnds told that a student a can write GATE exam in third year itself and the govt. ll provide scholarship if we pass. Is it true?? If true, is it applicable to me, as i am doing integrated course??

The GATE examination is a single paper examination which has duration of three hours. There are multiple choice questions. The total marks are 100 and will carry a negative score for all wrong answer. You can refer to different books and practice as many question paper as to master in the GATE exam.

The exam pattern under maths part as folllows:
Mathematical Logic: Propositional Logic; First Order Logic.
Probability: Conditional Probability; Mean, Median, Mode and Standard Deviation; Random Variables; Distributions; uniform, normal, exponential, Poisson, Binomial.
Set Theory & Algebra: Sets; Relations; Functions; Groups; Partial Orders; Lattice; Boolean Algebra.
Combinatorics: Permutations; Combinations; Counting; Summation; generating functions; recurrence relations; asymptotics.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering( GATE ) is conducted for admission in various PG programs in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Pharmacy streams.

GATE Exam Pattern
: The GATE exam consists of 60 questions of 100 marks. The total time allotted is 3hrs. All the questions are are multiple choice questions i.e objective types.

gate exam is toughest exam for MTECH so it's question have
some level....
so for gate hard labour is essential...
for mechanical go with whole syllabus thermodynamics,theory of machine,fluid mechanics,strength of materials,electrical machine ,auto cad,mechatronics..
and mathematics as well as english(verbal)...
gate forum's materials are too good....
question contains 1 or 2 marks for each right answer ....
duration 3 hour ...
conceptual knowledge is essential for that exam..
