NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for an entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing. The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final 12th/Diploma exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board or Institution within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental health, ac apply for NDA. ITS conducted by UPSC. ELIGIBILITY FOR CDS EXAM:- you should have to passed graduate with the 60% from the recognized university. age for indian air force should be 19 to 23 years. age for indian navy 19 to 23 years. you must be an Indian. you should be unmarried. all the best |

Re: Can I join Indian Navy, Air Force, Army after passing diploma in mechanical with 77% Unfortunately you can not join Indian Army, Air Force or Indian Navy. Since you are 20 years old you are not eligible to appear for National Defence Academy (NDA) entrance exam since the maximum age limit for NDA is 19 years. On the other hand the other option in front of you is Combined Defence Services or CDS Examination. However to appear for this exam, you do not meet the qualification criteria. It does not matter whether you want to apply for Navy, Army or Air Force, you need minimum of graduation degree to appear for CDS exam. But you have completed diploma course which is not considered equal to the graduation. However all is not lost for you. Like you mentioned, your age is 20 years. You can take admission for Engineering through lateral entry and then apply for the CDS Exam. Engineering is only 3 years course for the lateral entry candidates. You will be able to finish it by the age of 23. Then you will be able to apply for either Indian Military Service, Air Force or the Officers Training Academy. If you are really interested in joining Army then this is the only option for you. Firstly you will have to complete graduation before applying for the Combined Defence Services Examination. Below are the details: Eligibility 1. You must be of Indian origin. 2. Your age should be 19 to 24 years for Indian Military Academy. 3. Age limit for Indian Air Force is 19 to 23 years. 4. For Indian Navy age limit is 19 to 22 years. 5. Officers’ Training Academy - 19-25 years 6. Please remember that only unmarried candidates can apply for CDS. 7. The qualification to join Indian Army is graduation course in any stream. 8. For Indian Navy you will have to complete B.Tech or B.Sc with Physics & Mathematics. 9. The requirement for Indian Air Force is B.Tech or graduation degree with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2. |

For this, it is necessary to clear UPSC NDA exam. Lower age necessary for this exam is 16.5 years. Higher age is specified as 19 years. Log in to UPSC site to attain details about this exam. If you get through written exam physical test and personal interview need to be attended as well. |
