Re: Is Karnataka state open university approved by AICTE? KSOU stands for Karnataka State Open University. This is one of the popular university in distance mode. This university is offering number of Graduation and Post Graduation courses to the candidates. As far as affiliation, This University is not approved by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) but this university is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission) and DEC (Distance Council Education). Even though it is not being approved by AICTE, you don't need to worry about the survival of the university and the other things. You will be having good career scope after completion of any course from this university. You did not mention the highest level of academic qualification that you have. You can opt for the course in this university in accordance with the stream that you have gone through in your previous academic level. My suggestion would be to opt for any course in regular mode itself. There is a scope for you to -gain more subject knowledge -enhance communication skills -get rapport with lecturers -knowing the information of job opportunities -participate in various academic events etc. However the final choice is upto you. But is approved by the DEC(Distance Education Council), -->And it is a permanent member of the ACU(Association of Commonwealth Universties), -->Regular member of the AIU(Association of Indian Universties). But it is a good university for the Distance Education in all courses. All the best. |

Karnataka State Open University(KSOU), Mysore was established on 1st June 1996 with Karnataka Govt., Notification No. ED 1UOV 95 dated 1996, KSOU Act 1992. It is said to be the eighth Open University in India with privilege of experience prosperous in the field of Distant Education. It is approved by DEC. KSOU is a member of Association of Indian University, simultaneously of commonwealth Universities Association too. It provides both Technical and Non Technical Course. KOSU is not approved by AICTE. |
