Educational Qualifications required for Civil Services exam:- Minimum Graduate in any discipline from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). after doing B.Tech CSE, you will also be a graduate holders. so you can apply for the Civil Services exam. all the best....... |

In UPSC, graduation is required to fulfill educational eligibility criteria. So, i doesn't matter through which branch you are pursuing your graduation. Your branch comes in picture if are taking the same subjects as in your B.Tech for your main and preliminary subject. Few engineering subjects under UPSC Syllabus - Electrical engineering - Mechanical engineering - Physics - Chemistry - Civil engineering etc. GOOD LUCK |

Because the eligibility of UPSC says that you must be a graduate to apply for that exam and also the final year students also can apply. I suggest you to finish your final year apply for UPSC next year. |

Eligiblity criteria - To apply for civil services examination you need - - Bachelor degree in any stream from a recognised University. - Your age should between 21 to 30 years - Final Year appearing Candidates are also eligible for This examination. So, if your age lies between 21 to 30 years, then definitely you are eligible to apply for Civil services exams. But for this year the UPSC Civil services examination was going to be held on 12/06/2011(Prelims) And 29/10/2011(main examination). And the last date of apply for this examination for this year was already over. So, you can apply for this examination in this year, just apply for this exams next year, the notification was published in the employment newspaper in the month of February every year and it is also updates in the UPSC Official website of UPSC. The general candidates will gets 4 attempts in this examination. 7 attempts allowed for OBC candidates. No limits for SC, ST candidates. Can't I apply for Civil Services while in B.Tech CSE for the post of CID officer? dear sir/ madam I m Rajeev Kushwaha.I m in final year of b.tech cse.my question is that can i not apply in civil service with this degree for the post of cid officer not for other services such as ias or pcs etc. kindly suggest me? |
