Yes, a person with atleast 40% disability is entitled for 3% reservation in all state and central govt exams and service.
So you can appear for any govt exam in your field of education.

My brother passed class 12 in 1997 and scored 1006 out of 1200. Is it possible for him to apply for MBBS in Tamil Nadu. Kindly reply. Thanks.

My son will complete CBSE std. XII in 2012. We have been living in Chennai since 2010. He holds a US passport with Person Of Indian Origin (PIO) card. Will he be be eligible to apply for medical (MBBS) course in Tamil Nadu after graduating from std. XII? If you do not have this information kindly direct me to the office which can advise me on this matter.

How has the figure of 40% disability been decided for the issuance of disability certificate that makes the person eligible to reservations and relaxations in admission?

Medical Exam in TAMILNADU
TAMIL NADU PROFESSIONAL COURSES ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (TNPCEE) is conducted by Anna University, Chennai for admission to all professional courses in Tamil Nadu Including MBBS, BDS, BPharm, BPT/BOT, BSc (Nursing) courses for all ‘Free seats and Payment Seats’ in Government, Government Aided and private medical colleges. Exemption Govt of India Nominees, Diploma Holders for BPharm course, NRIs candidates.

Annamalai university, Annamalainagar and Christian medical College, Vellore, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai (Deemed University) have framed separate entrance test/admission rules which may be referred at appropriate place.

COMMON DETAILS are given hereunder:



Categories of Seats Free Seats All seats in Government Colleges and 50% seats in private colleges, Payment Seats 50% seats including 155 NRIs in private medical colleges.

Admission is open to Indian citizens and whose parents have permanent residence in the State. Exceptions Candidates who have studied from IX Std to qualifying exam in the State. Children of defence personnel of TN origin who have passed X/XII exam from the State. Children of employees of State Govt/Public Sector Undertakings.

Allocation of Seats SC 18% ST 1% BC 30% Most Backward and denotified communities 20% General 31%.

Reservations MBBS/BDS All India entrance 15% MBBS Grand children/children of Freedom Fighters 3 seats Development of Tamil Language 6 Defence Quota 6 (BDS 1) Children of Police Personnel (who died in Heroic Action) 3 Eminent sportsmen 3 Widows 10 Deserted women 1 Children born on intercaste marriage in Andaman and Nicobar Islands (MBBS/BPharm 2), Anglo-Indian candidates (BSc Nursing 1).

Children of Medical Deptt Staff (who lost their lives on account of Infection, Radiation and Chemical reaction in hospitals) 4 Recipients of Anna Awards 2 Sri Lanka Tamils among Sri Lankan refuge students 10. Seats are available for Government of India nominees (BPharm 3) and Government of Pondicherry nominees (BPharm 1).

Eligibility Age 17 year of admission. Academic qualification MBBS/BDS 12 yrs Hr Sec (Academic) exam of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary State Board or equivalent with Phy, Chem, Biol (Zool & Bot) taken together securing 60% marks in each subject and 70% (140 out of 200) aggregate marks in first appearance. BC/SC & ST candidates securing 55-60%/40% marks in each Sc subject are also eligible for admission. BPharm 12 yrs Hr Sec with Phy, Chem and Biol (Zool & Bot) taken together securing 50%aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST). BPharm holders are eligible for BPharm course. BSc (Nursing) BPT/BOT 12 yr He Sec exam with Phy, Chem and Biol (Zool & Bot) takes together. Candidates should be medically fit. (Candidates both male and female seeking admission to BSc (Nursing) course should be unmarried. The ratio between men and women is 1:10 respectively in the selection of candidates).

Application Procedure (TNPCEE) Application form can be obtained in person from the notified colleges on payment of Rs.80 through bank draft in favour of Registrar, Anna University payable at Chennai. The form can also be obtained by post from the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations, Anna University, Chennai 600025 on payment of Rs. 90 through bank draft alongwith a self-addressed slip of 12*8 CM SIZE Completed applications with registration fee of Rs.180 should reach the TNPCEE by the notified date. (ADMISSION) Prospectus and application forms for admission can be obtained from the notified medical colleges in the State on payment of Rs. 300/250 through bank draft in favour of the Director of Medical Education, Chennai on State Bank of India. Completed application should reach the Secretary, (Selection Committee), Kilpauk Medical College Hospital Campus, Chennai 600010 by the notified date. The admission notification is issued sometime in April.

Selection On merit on the basis of marks obtained in Science subjects (PCB) at the qualifying exam reduced to the base of 200 marks and the marks obtained for the maximum of 100 marks in entrance exam conducted by Anna University. The test is conducted at 21 centres in Tamil Nadu. The questions are of qualifying exam standard. The list of the selected candidates is notified at the Office of the Selection Committee/local dailies.

i'm a physically handicapped person.i have fingers on my left hand short and i have 40% of disability issued by tamilnadu state government and i have the national identity card & pass book with disability certificate.am i eligible to write any medical entrance examinations.
