friends vote for which is tougher to clear gate or ies examinations,
and which offer better career opportunities

according to me ies is better because it takes the complete test of your knowledge both simple basics and also there complete application,also the projects which you get to do after ies are really thrilling and big

according to me GATE exams are tougher
which brings good job opportunities in future

i think...both have their own career......
an student perusing m.tech can achieve any thing he wants....he can go for research and will be paid good .....
an student going for ies will have its own job prospectus and a career....

but when compared for exams.....i consider ies to be tougher...as it filters out a best candidate through a series of tests ......
and being a govt. job i would prefer ies over gate exam............

I think IES is more tougher then GATE,because a candidate can not get in only by cracking they have to also crack the other selection procedures which are folowed by entrance.

But for GATE if you able to crack then you will get admitted.

I think cracking IES is more tougher then cracking GATE.

i think both's are gives very useful knowledge to get good personality but ies is better

ies is tougher because you should prepare both technical and general awereness

the ies exam consists of two papers both general and technical and also seeing the number students are more for it and hence competition is also more in ies,also the syllabus is more than gate and moreover there is an written exam also,these all are the things which make ies exam a lot tougher than gate

Well IES is much more tougher than GATE as it has a lot of competition.

Also the inherent advantage of IES lies in the fact that an engineer can easily use his/her knowledge for the development of the country in a much better way as IES covers a lot of engineering related works in India .

according to me, GATE is much tougher than IES.cracking GATE is not a easy job.

ies is tougher because for that you have to have knowledge in almost all fields .. but gate exam is concerned with only the tecnical paper you are studying

according to my knowledge ies is more tougher than gate.
because for this we have to face a series of exam.
and also it provides goverment job so ies is better.

i think IES is more tougher than GATE because IES has not only the written part to qualify but the interveiw and other same sections like that to qualify and merit is also a big factor where as in GATE if one just qualifies this exam then he/she is through without any other challenges . so in my openion GATE is just the test of one's brain where as IES is the test of one's brain as well as skill. thanks

i think ies is most toughfest than gate.

IES is tougher than engineering
but for engineering student gate is easier than IES

gate is tough because you should have in depth knowledge in your technical side to get good marks in gate.. having indepth knowledge in technical papers in not easy.. for ies you need general knowledge and skills which you can learn from childhood even

Accourding to me GATE exam is more tough then other exam and if you select in this exam then you can get good job and good salary

all these papers are tougher but i think agte is more tough paper than ies paper.

clearing IES is cherished dream of many engineers but you cant compare it with GATE whose purpose is to certify a minimum level of competency for engg graduates....while the cream get selected for IES

bcoz examiner has to clear many stages of exams...
whether in gate its syllabus is limited which is not in ies.....'
its syllabus is very vast....

ies is the tougher exam because it test the knowledge of the student in all the subjects and very details,thats not the case in gate

In my opinion IES is tougher than GATE
it provides a lot of carrer oportunities

Friend I think GATE is tougher than the IES exam..........

after writing this years gate exam i find that ies is definitely far tougher than the gate exam,
an average student can score very high marks in gate but it is not possible in ies exam,
here to get an good marks an student should be thoroughly prepared in all the topics only then he can score good

both exam are very easy .. if your preparation is up to the mark.............

the ratio of appearing candidates to vacancies may be tougher in IES but considering the options given by toppers in last years is it real hard to crack gate than anyother exams...

GATE exam is not easier then IES but IES is tougher than GATE exam.
GATE exam consist of B.Tech syllabus everyone has idea but IES exam has no idea or guess.

i think IES is more tougher than GATE because it has very small no of sits than GATE,and gate has more number of seats than IES,moreover it IES is for only for the student belongs to technical line but GATE is open for all

i am sure gate exam is tougher then IES
because Gate exam contain more difficult question compare than IES exam..
and IES exam question is little tough..
but cutoff marks in IES is high and GATE cut off is low..
so IES is little tough then GATE...

IES is a technical exam but the GATE is more as a general.

my advice is ies exam is very tough with compare to gate exam.because in ies exam written test clear on the basis of two stage but in gate only on exam is clear.

All of us should remeber that GATe is for further study. IES is for job opportunity. So If IES is tough the competitor will get Group 'A' Gazatted post in Central Govt. but in GATe there is no job . You can get only M.Tech seat in IIT.
