Graduation is the basic qualification required for bank P.O. No specific percentages are required in most cases. Mark requirements may vary with bank or the exam conducting authority. Age of the candidate must be between 21 and 30 years. OBC candidates can expect 3 year age relaxation where as SC/ST/PwD candidates can have 5 year age reduction.

If you have completed graduation then you are eligible for the Bank PO entrance exam. Institute of Banking Personnel Services has set the qualification criteria for its Bank PO exam as graduation degree.

It does not matter how much marks you have scored. Neither the course matters as long the university is recognized. Therefore you should be able to appear for the IBPS Bank PO entrance exam.

The Bank PO exam is conducted once in a year in June/July. You should visit the official website of Institute of Banking Personnel Services www.ibps.in for details about the dates. The notification is not issued so far. Therefore the exact dates of exam will only be known somewhere around May/June.

IBPS Bank PO Eligibility

1. You should be of Indian origin.

2. Bachelor degree in any discipline.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. The age limit is 20 to 30 years.

5. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC.

6. SC and ST are eligible for 5 years relaxation.

7. Upto 10 years relaxation is offered to PWD candidates.

Dear Friend,

Bank PO Stands for Bank Probationary Officers.

All the Banks and the Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection conducts the Bank PO Examination.

The Eligibility Criteria Required For Bank PO Examination are :

a) you must hold a Bachelor`s Degree in any stream from any college or UGC recognized university.

b) you must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in graduation.

c) your age should be in between 21-30 years.

d) If you belong to OBC Category then your should lie in between 21-33 years as they are granted an age relaxation of 3 years in upper age.

e) If you belong to SC/ST Category then your should lie in between 21-35 years as they are granted an age relaxation of 5 years in upper age.

So , from the above mentioned , its clear that you need a minimum of 60% marks in graduation (overall) , not 60% marks in each semester.

Note : Recently SBI has announced the Bank PO Examination for which applications are invited from 28th Of Jan , 2013.

SBI PO
RBI

As you can very well see, that SBI and RBI conduct their own entrances for the Bank PO post, the rest 20 Public Sector banks recruit on the basis of the IBPS. You can apply for ANY bank PO Examination provided you fulfill the following Eligibility Criteria's :-

1. You should be a minimum graduate (as on 1-01-2013) from a recognized college or University in India.

2. Your age should be within 20-28 years. But some relaxations are offered to the OBC/SC and ST people.

3. Gen can take 4 attempts, 7 for OBC and Unlimited attempts for the SC/ST.

These are the main ones to check, however there are some others as well which you can get in the detailed notification of whichever bank you are applying for.

Presently the SBI PO Notification is out, and you can apply for it by Clicking Here !!!

For IBPS, Click Here. I would also like to impress on that THERE IS NO NEED FOR 60% AGGREGATE IN SBI PO. You can apply just only if you are a pass in all your graduation subjects and do not have any backlogs. At the time of the interview you should be able to produce all your marksheets and documents.

Hope this helps
All the best
