Candidate who want to apply on the CS exam must pass 10+2+3 with more than 50% marks.

To opt for Company Secretary Career, a student has to go through the following educational programmes for which below is the mentioned eligible educational qualification is required:

1. Foundation Programme: This programme is the beginning course for those students of any educational stream, who want to become CS after 10+2. This will be followed by further two course programmes that will be for graduates or for those who have successfully completed Foundation Programme of CS course.

2. Executive Programme: This is 2nd stage for those who have undergone through the Foundation Programme and beginning stage of CS course for graduation degree holders in any stream except in fine arts.

3. Professional Programme: This is the last stage under the CS course and is eligible for only those students who have successfully completed Executive level programme.

Various levels to clear for becoming Company Secretary are as follows.

You must have done 12th class in any stream to apply for foundation level. After successful completion of this level, you can apply for the next level. Graduates can directly opt for this level. After clearing the second level, you are eligible for the final course.

CS stands for Company Secretary.

-The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) conducts the Company Secretary Exam with the name Company Secretary Exam commonly known as CS exam.

-There are three stages to this exam –

*Foundation programme,

*Executive programme and

*Professional Programme.

- The CS Exam is conducted twice in an year – June and December.

-The candidate should have cleared 10+2 exams to become eligible for this exam. Provisional registration is also allowed for students of 10+2 awaiting their results.

-Students who have cleared CA-CPT or have cleared CMA Foundation Exams or students who have a Master’s degree in any discipline other than Fine Arts are exempt from appearing CS Foundation Exams.

-The age of the candidate to apply for the entrance exam should not be more than 26 years.

There are three levels in C.S programme also , like C.A course.

I level - Foundation

II level - Intermediate

II level - Final



To apply for Foundation course, you must have done 12th class in any stream from approved institution in India. To apply for intermediate level, you must be a commerce graduate or have done foundation level. To apply for final level, obviously you must have completed middle level.
