You can go for B.Tech course and in order to take admission in B.Tech college you should apply for JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams to get admission in IIT's. You have to score good marks in both exams after that you will be able to apply for the admission in IIT's which are the top most Engineering Institutes of India.

On the basis of marks obtained in JEE exam you can also apply in NIT colleges which are come after the IIT's.

Be prepare for JEE exam because JEE is one of the toughest exam.

Yes, B. Tech. is advisable as you seem a bright student and your inclination is towards engineering. Then why not aim for the highest. Plan for IIT and appear for JEE Advance and Mains. For JEE preparation, join the best coaching institutes like – Catalyser, Allen, FIITJEE – whichever is in your town. Prefer Catalyser if it’s there in your town because their pattern is effective and success is proven.

B.tech is the convenient way out for a moderately bright student who is interested in Mathematics is Physics. But you have to decide it for yourself whether you like physics and mathematics more or chemistry and biology. In the latter case you can go for a bsc in chemistry and zoology both are amazing options but you have to be a little studious and patient.
For pursuing engineering course, you need to have a decent score in JEE mains and advanced to be eligible for applying to engineering institutes. Or you may look for private institutes as well.
