Can I take Maths as my main subject after doing MBA with IT and Finance

I am done with my MBA with IT and Finance and like to take the exam of UGC NET or CSIR NET in order to pursue career in research. Can I take math as main subject of study. What is the process for Junior Research Fellowship?
