Sir,
please tell me when the admission session starts to get in merchant navy

Some institutes have started the admission procedure,while maximum are waiting to announced in new year.

generally it is announced in the month of march-june every year.

ignou conducts the test for joining in merchant navy..............dates will be declared in between.march - june.

i am in class 12th.how can i join merchant navy??all the information related to forms,courses and fee structure

Some universities offer direct admission to merchant navy like the six months sessions and the rest of them conduct a common entrance examination and pick up students based on the merit list.

if u want to go for merchant navy for that you have to give some exams organised by many private instuitute and IGNOU after your 12t exams get over.....
if you passed the exam then you willl be called for the interview

2.Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata.
3.Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai.
4.Lal Bahadur Shastri College of advanced Maritime Studies and Research, Mumbai.

take into admission through IIT-JEE score card.

and there are several other institutes like

anglo-eastern
mersk
torm etc

in which you can get admission on the basis of an exam conducted by IGNOU followed by an interview.

Admission session for merchant navy is mainly between march till june.

admission procedure starts from march and end till june.in march you have to give the exams for different companies then its result will be declared in 1 month and you will be called for interview and after passing all these you will be asked to join it.

for that yo have to appear for the merchant navy exam and then in the month of april you will be called for interview if you passed the exam....

you can get the information from the employment news paper..
so be in touch with the paper.

Dear friend,

There are many ways to get into merchant navy.....
First is through NDA exam,you have to first cleaar written exam of it then only you will get call for your SSB i.e. for your GD and PI.

There is also one more chance in which you not have to give written exam and that is the forms which comes after you have completed your 12th.You just have to fill that form and you will directly get call for your GD and PI.

One more method is that the advetisements and forms comes in local newspaper or in Times of India.You can even fill that form also.

TS.CHANAKYA, NAVI MUMBAI, MARINE ENGINEERING & RESEARCH INSTITUTE (MERI), KOLKATA, MARINE ENGINEERING & RESEARCH INSTITUTE (MERI), MUMBAI
Marine Engineering Degree at Marine Engineering S Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata and 3-year Polyvalent B.Sc. (Maritime Science Degree at Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI). Mumbai for the session commencing in August 2009 will be made through the Joint Entrance Examination 2009 to be conducted by IITs on 12.04.2009. There will be no separate Entrance Examination for the institutes mentioned above and candidates who have qualified in the IIT-JEE 2009 examination will be called for counseling in the month of July/August2009. All Indian Nationals seeking admission to the above mentioned institutes must fill up the application form for IIT-JEE and a Separate application form issued by Indian institute of Maritime Studies.

Seats: There are 156 seats available in T.S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, 208 in MERI. Kolkata and 39 in MERI, Mumbai. Out of these 10 seats are reserved for foreign nationals in T.S. Chanakya. MERI. Kolkata and MERI, Mumbai for which the details can be directly obtained from Indian Institute of Maritime Studies.

Reservation of Seats: 15% are reserved for SC candidates, 7-1/2% for ST candidates & 18% are reserved for OBC candidates belonging to the non-creamy layer.

Academic Qualification & AGE Limits: Candidates must have passed (10 + 2) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English The candidates’ mast have been born on or after 1.10.1984, for SC/ST candidates must have born on or after 1.10.1979.
