Hi i am yuvaraj i m doing my BE final year, i am interested in joining police as a sub-inspector what i want to do?

There is certain criteria for it
age should be between 20-28
age relaxation is for SC and ST candidates is 33 yrs
min. height should be 168 cm
qualification any degree
chest 81-85 cms
There are certain physical test
running-1500 m
long jump, high jump, rope climbing
And above that there will be a written test min. qualifying marks for that will be 35 out of 75
and followed by viva-voce which will be of 10 marks.

For join tamil nadu police service you have to crack state civil service commission entrace exam which is just like civil services exam of upsc,the only difference is that tamil nadu civil service commission entrace exam is conducted only for state domicile and it is state level competition.

Notifications for it are released in employment news,keep it reading.

in news papre you willl be intimated regarding the selection procedure. after that you apply for that ......

there are two selection procedure.
1) you will have written exam... which includes general knowledge and other basic questions.

2) once you get selected in the written exam you have to appear for physical exam.....
height and other sports stuufs.

Dear Friend,

The Tamilnadu Uniformed Service Commission offered various post for police such as,
a) Sub-Inspectors of Police for Men & Women.

b) Grade II Police Constables for Men & Women

c) Sub-Inspectors (Technical) for Men & Women

d)SP-Superintendent of Police

e)DSP-Deputy Superintendent of Police

selection procedure
1)Written exam including general knowledge and other basic questions.

2)After getting passed in written exam ,you will be called for the physical exam including
height and weight etc...

You should be a graduate with minimum 50% marks
your age should be between 21 yr to 28 yr.
for SC/ST,your age have to be 33 yr.
for Ex-Servicemen maximum of 45 years

According to the written test

General Knowledge Test -45 marks
Psychology Test -25 marks
Extra Qualification:National Service Scheme/National Cadet.Crops/Sports/Games-5 marks
Total -75 marks
Viva-voice - 10 Marks

Minimum Qualifying marks - 35 marks

Your height should be 168 cms,165 cms for SC/ST.
chest :81 - 86 cms.

i m a hotel management diploma holder and have no degree, then how can i apply for sub-inspector post as they ask for degree only and as per the study what i did is 10 2 3 and the three years diploma is given by DOTE and AICTE affiliated institution only. and i would like to know what other exams are available to join tamilnadu police department.

For joining tamil nadu police service you should appear in TNPSC exam.

The details of the exam are as follows:
Date of Written Examination: first week of May, 2011
Availability of Application Forms: Second week of November, 2010
Last date for receipt of applications/Online Application: First week of February, 2011

Application form availability:
Candidate should take the Application Form from all Head Post Offices and Selected Sub-Post Offices in Tamil Nadu/Puducherry and also from TNPSC Office Sales Counter.
