What is the expected salary of working in a civil service

The salary of Civil Service officer as per 7th Pay Commission varies for different post.

For Junior Scale it is between Rs 50,000 - Rs 1,50,000
For Senior Scale it is between Rs 50,000 - Rs 1,50,001 along with grade pay of Rs 20000.

But for the Cabinet Secretary it is Rs 12,50,000 per month ( fixed ).
