After Diploma course you can opt for AMIE or you can opt for B.Tech course. In B.Tech you will get admission into second year through lateral entry scheme.

AMIE is a good option because, it will allows you to study at your own pace with no regular classes. Hence, you can do your job and do AMIE at the same time. There is no regular classes to attend. You will gain experience as well as Degree after completing AMIE. For Diploma students there will be 13 subjects to study during AMIE. You have to pass these subjects in maximum 6 years time. You need to study very well for AMIE otherwise it will be very difficult to pass it.

If you are opting for B.Tech then you have to apply for entrance exam for lateral entry scheme which will allow you to get admission into 2nd year of the Engineering course. This will save your one year and you will get Engineering degree in 3 years.

Hence, you can choose your option according to your situation. If you want to do job after Diploma then opt for AMIE and if you are focused only on studies then opt for B.Tech course. But make sure you get a good B.Tech college.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
