hi,
i have completed my bsc.cs. i m bit confused should i go for msc
( mathamatics) or for mcs ( computer science)

After completed BSc Computer Science, I will suggest you go for MCA, because
MCA is the best course after completed BSc Computer Science. But if you are
interested in M.sc, then i will suggest you just go for M.sc computer science,
but overall, its totally depends on your choice and interest, just do what you
like............

The very first thing you need to decide is what exactly you want to be. M.Sc in Maths is not a bad option as it will definetly add value to your resume but not upto a great extent. Employers looking out for professionals gives preference to the one with expert knowledge in the required field.So, the one with a graduate and post graduate degree in exactly same area are always the first choice in the market. So having been done bachelors in computer science, It will be better to pursue Masters in computer science because of the growing standard of related jobs and its requirements.

Apart from this, I would also like you to have a close look at the syllabus of both the courses and compare them on the basis of your expertise and requirements for an expert for related jobs in present scenario.

Good question, m.sc math and m.sc cs both are good field and have lots of opportunities . It is completely depends on you that which one you wants to do and in which your interest is most

as u have done your graduation from cs so i think that doing msc. with cs will be bit comfortable for you but if u are interested in mathematics than you can go for it .

but it depends mainly on your interest .
since doing mathematics you can go into research field or can go for teaching

but if u go for m.sc. cs than you can be offered a packages depending upon your skills .
as you hasn't specified the college of graduation ,i can't descript you more.

but it mainly depends upon your interest ,
if u are interested in mathematics than you should go for it since interst fetches good academic performances.

you can also go for some other post graduation courses as well including mba. as well .

you can also go for msc. from some iit's and nit's by having a valid gate score .

for this you have to appear in the entrance test in which you have to score a minimum of 700 marks which vary year to year depending upon the level of paper .

It depends squarely on what you wanted to become after completion of the course.

If your intention is to become Teacher/Lecturer/Govt.Jobs/ then you take M.Sc(Maths)

If you want to go for high paid salaries( but lot of stress) then M.Sc(computer science0 is best. You could win lot of careers in software/pvt.sector companies, if you do some speciallization after m.sc.

Before I suggest you something just want to tell you that Its your life and you have to choose your career...Thanks for giving the opportunity to help you in your career...
If you had done your Bsc in computer science then i suggest you to go for Msc in computer science..after that you can do phd in computer science..IIT,kanpur offers a phd course in computer science and gives fellowship to the phd scholars..after that you need not to look back if you were an IITian..Msc in mathematics that is also a good option but i guess not for you..If maths is your favourite subject then you can choose Msc in mathematics..Think twice before you choose your career..Afterall you choose career only once na..

Depends on your area of interests. Job opportunitieis are easily available in software industry these days. Not only as programmers but as testers, Quaity Assurance dept, there is increasing demand. If you are ready to take that much of mental stress go for it. it has more scope in terms of number of jobs.

Msc IT after Bsc computer science?

It's good to u that u r having a computer science degree.Think about yours area of intrest.u already studied maths in BSc CS.If u dont want to go in CS programming then u having a choice in MSc maths.But MSc CS is best option than MSc with Maths.

Yeah its possible to persue B.Tech (CS) after B.sc (CS).

Any candidate those who want to do so then he/she has to go through Lateral Entry Scheme, provided by State Government, Deemed Universities etc...

For example:- Calcutta University provides Lateral entry in CSE if candidate have at least 60% aggregate in B.sc (CS/Mathematics). Similarly you can enroll for PTU one of the best option for Lateral entry and distance Engineering.

after completion of ur Bsc in CS i will suggest u to go for master degree in computer science.

after completion of ur master degree u can join reputed IT firms of indai like

TCS , CTS , INFOSYS , WIPRO and many more.

u acn also go for Phd . after having indepth knowledge in this subject u can try for R & D section in different companies.

Hello all,
I have completed my BSc in Computer Science this year 2010 from Mumbai University.
What are the options I can choose from and which according to you will be the best thing to do? Also i am a bit confused bcos i find myself interested in following areas:
- Web Designing
- Writing (Technical/Non-Technical both)
- Human Resource
- Software developing (only in Visual Basic)
- Training/Teaching
- Creativity and entertainment etc.
Please suggest me something for the same. Also i am not at all economically sound to pay up even a lakh for some higher studies(Dad has retired and responsibility of two younger siblings studies and family..i hope u understand)..

If you have really interest in computers then after your BSc you can go for the MSc in computer science or for the MCA.

But doing MSc in mathematics is quite different from your subjects. But if you have more interest in maths then you can do that.

Since you have done your BSc in computer science so according to me MSC in computer science or MCA is the good option for you.
