Age limit for joining Indian Army after 12th?

After completing Class 12th, the candidate should write National Defence Academy (NDA) examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in order to join the Indian army.

ELIGIBLITY :
* Candidate should be citizen of India.

* Candidates age should be between 16.5 to 18 years.

* Candidate should not have born earlier than 2nd January 1997 and not earlier than 1st January 2000.

* Candidate should have passed class 12th or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects from any recognized university or institution.

* The candidate should be physically and mentally fit without any defects or deformities.

Indian Army is one of the defence force of India and to join in this force you need to write the entrance exam for joining in this force. The eligibility criteria's needed are:

• Nationality
• Martial Status
• Age limit
• Educational Qualification
• Physical Standard

To tell in detail about this eligibility criteria's refer below:

-> The Nationality standard needed is citizenship in India

-> Age limit needed is 16 1/2-19 1/2 years.

-> Martial status needed is you need to be a unmarried male candidate.

-> Educational qualification needed is candidate should have completed +2 from a recognized school board of education.

-> Out of all these candidate need to be physically fit.

NDA stands for National Defence Service exam. NDA Examination is conducted for 3 wings-Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army.

The candidate's who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam. Final year of 12th standard candidate are eligible for NDA exam.

Your age should be in between to 16.5 years to 19.5 years. There is no age relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

To join Indian Army after completion of your 12th you will have to clear the NDA examination.

--> You must be an Indian unmarried male candidate.

--> Your age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years.

--> You must be physically and mentally as per the service requirement.

--> You must have higher secondary degree or a degree equivalent with any stream to same from a recognized board of education.

Note :- For other two wings of NDA that are Indian Navy and Indian Air force you must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as your main subjects in your academics.

The examination is held in two stages which are called as Written test and Service selection board held in given order.

10+2 Technical Entry Scheme: You should have completed intermediate with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized school or equivalent qualification. You must have secured at least 70% marks in aggregate. You must have attained the age of 17 years to 19 years. No upper age limits are applicable for this examination. Final year of 12th board exam may also apply.

National Defence Academy: You should have completed intermediate with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized school or equivalent qualification. You must have attained the age of 16.5 years to 19 years. No upper age limits are applicable for this examination. Final year of 12th board exam may also apply.

There is no relaxation in age on any basis.

To join the Indian Army after the 10+2 board examination the candidate need to qualify in the NDA examination.

NDA stands for the National Defense Academy and th examination is conduced by the UPSC twice every year. The examination are conducted as NDA I and NDA II in the month of April and September. The eligibility to appear for the examination is :-
* Candidate must have passed the 10+2 from the board examination.
* Candidate age must be between 16.5-19 years.
* Only male unmarried candidate are eligible.

The examination are conducted in the two stages as the Written and the SSB. The written examination contains the two paper.
* Paper I of the Mathematics Ability.
* Paper II of the General Ability.

After qualifying in the written examination you are eligible for the SSB. In the SSB the candidate have to go through the various test in front of the officer's after that you have to go through the Medical Fitness Test.

After the selection in all the stages you are eligible to join the Indian Army as an Officer.
