It depends on the kind of designation you have got in Indian Army. Normally, the salary for officers depends on the rank. Along with salary, an Army officer gets other allowances and facilities for family. Life is quite tough for an Army officer because they have to go to new posting every 3 year in most cases. There are field postings and peace postings.

Serving in Army is not easy, if you are not of adventurous nature. Those who like to travel a lot, must join Army because it gives them opportunity to live in a new city every 3 year. In terms of leaves, Army is quite generous, if there is no emergency kind of situation. You can easily come for 2 months of paid leave every year.
