Can anyone please provide the preparation tips for IPS examination along with the age criteria for the same. I want to become an IPS officer in future, so kindly help me with the preparation tips and the required details.

Indian Police Service (IPS) exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) .
The age criteria for the IPS exam is as follows.

AGE CRITERIA :

* General : The age of the candidate should not be more than 32 years.

* OBC : The maximum age for a candidate is 35 years.

* SC/ST : The candidates age should not be more than 37 years.

* The maximum age limit for the Physically handicapped candidates is 42,45 and 47 years for general, OBC and SC/ST respectively.

PREPARATION TIPS :

* Regular study will be crucial for the candidate to crack IPS exam.

* Plan the schedule and stick to it.

* Its very important to know what to read and it is also equally important to know what not to read. so, choose the subjects carefully.

* Study according the exam pattern and be selective.

* Practice more number of mock tests to master the time management skill.

* Practice previous years question papers to get the idea about the exam pattern.

* Reading newspapers will cover the current affairs and English section.

If you are looking for IPS then you have to write UPSC Civil Service Exam. UPSC Civil Service Exam conducted once in every year for the posts of IAS, IPS, IFS.
Age: Maximum of 32 years (relaxation is available for reserved candidates)
Attempts: 4 attempts for General, 7 attempts for OBC.
Examination Pattern:
Preliminary Exam - General Studies + CSAT.
Mains Paper - General Studies 4 papers + Language + English + Optional Paper.
Interview

-You have to keep your physique well as well you have to logically better.
-Daily Newspaper reading is the must.
