There are three consecutive attempts in Joint Entrance Examination Main stage and two consecutive attempts in JEE Advanced examination.

You have appeared for your board examination in 2015 and hence eligible for JEE Main examination in 2017. But you will not be eligible for JEE Advanced exam even if you clear JEE Main exam in 2017.

JEE Main is a National level engineering entrance examination conducted by CBSE for offering admission to undergraduate engineering programs in NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs.

Candidates who have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination with PCM stream from a Government recognised board are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2017 examination. The maximum age limit to appear in JEE Main examination is 25 years and upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

The maximum number of attempts allowed to appear in JEE Main examination is three times that too in three consecutive years after completion of 12th standard. Since, you have passed 12th standard in 2015, you have last chance to appear in JEE Main 2017 examination.

Yes, you are eligible to appear for JEE Main examination in 2017 but this will be your last attempt.

You will not eligible to appear for Advanced stage even after qualifying in Main examination.

The candidates who have passed 12th board in 2015,2016 or going to appear in 2017 are eligible to appear for JEE Main in 2017.
