I have passed my 10th standard examination with 63%. I want to go for Diploma in Automobile Engineering course but there isn’t any college offering Diploma in Automobile Engineering near my residential zone. So, I am thinking that I should go for Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and after that go for B.E. or B.Tech in Automobile Engineering as there are few colleges offering B.E. and B.Tech in Automobile Engineering. So, tell me is that possible?

Yes, you can do B.Tech in Automobile Engineering after completion of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The candidates who have passed a three years Diploma in Engineering with 45% marks are eligible for the B.Tech in Automobile Engineering. The admission to the course will be done through an entrance examination. The candidates will be admitted directly to the second year of the B.Tech Automobile Engineering. Yes, it is possible to get admission in B.Tech Automobile Engineering course after completion of your three years Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates who have passed 12th standard with PCM stream or three years Diploma course in Mechanical/ Automobile Engineering from a recognised board/ institute are eligible to pursue B.Tech Automobile Engineering course. You need to appear and qualify the lateral entry examinations like LEET, ECET, JELET, etc., which is conducted by your respective state board of technical education for getting admission in second year of four years B.Tech Automobile Engineering course.
