You can choose any subject (like commerce, arts, science etc) in graduation to have a career in bank. The candidates with graduation in any discipline are eligible to apply for Clerk and Probationary Officer posts in banks. The B.Com is better if you want to pursue your career in banking industry. The competition for the bank examination will be very high. So you have to prepare well to clear the written test. There are various institutions offering the coaching classes for the bank Clerk and PO examinations.

First thing I would like to mention you that there is no particular requirement of any subject in any level of academics for the posts of bank clerk and bank probationary officer in the banking sector and hence you can pursue your graduation in any discipline.

Apart from the educational qualification, your age need to lie within 20 years to 28 years for the post of bank clerk and 21 years to 30 years for the post of bank probationary officer. Also you need to have good communication skills and basic computer knowledge.

Further for getting these jobs you need to qualify entrance examinations like IBPS bank examination and SBI bank examination.
