Even though the IT industry is passing through the recession phase, the blue chip companies keep on hiring freshers. This shows that the demand for manpower in IT industry is increasing continously. So,one can expect a promising career in IT industry in future also.

With M.Tech from some good institutes you will definitely get software job in MNC's like Yahoo, Google, DeShaw, Samsung etc. These MNC's offer an average of 6 lakhs/ annum to MTech. degree holders.

your chances of getting job will surely increase after doing mtech because mtech students are given more priority than btech students. You will not find government jobs but private sector is full of jobs for it students.

i don't think that there is need for doing mtech for getting job in it industry,
because the offers are the same for both btech and mtech students, who are freshers.
its only if you have prior experience with mtech degree then you are preferred,
i would advice you to do mtech only if you want to go for teaching profession

Honestly saying , there is no use of doing MTech in IT because only option left after MTech is lecturership. Please do take my point seriously. It doesnt mean that you cant do other type of jobs.
I will explain you in detail. You are a BTech student from IT stream, have you ever seen any IT company wanting a MTech student in IT for their post ?
or have you seen any govt. organisation requiring a MTech post graduation student for research work or a job?
I think the answers are in negative side. You can choose " your career in lecturer" means your MTech is only be fruitfull in 'lecturership job' case. You can take this as suppose your one of the friend is placed in Infosys or TCS with a paypackage of 3.8 lakhs if you were at the same place after MTech you will not get more than 4.2 lakhs per annum from Infosys. Means by making yourself busy for two years(in MTech) would results in only 40thousand increment in salary but just think that after 2 years how much salary your friend would be getting!!
Moral of the story is try to get in IT companies from now , MTech is not a good fruit unless you have decided to go in academic lecturership line.

in IT industry mostly in info tech companies both the b.tech as well as m.tech holders work in the same post in starting.

but after gaining experience M.TECH degree holders can get only the promotion.

after m.tech you can get jobs in higher post as compared to b.tech holders.

you can work under R n D section.

Seriously speaking if technology is wot u sleep, eat, drink, play definitely go into Research by doing Mtech, as there is great paucity in Research specially in India. You can get high end jobs in Core software product companies, not just low end labour job of IT services industry which is being outsourced to INida just becuse of low labour cost here.

u can try for lecturer job rather then entering in IT field. because now lots and lots of lecturer post where vacant in both public and private college. u can try for that where we can shape our future generation .u can also enter in research field

Opportunities are vast in software industry.You can get jobs very easily if not affected by recession.

Recession will have no effect if you are from a good college/university.
You can apply in the Govt., organisation like Indian Air Force,DRDO etc.,
And in private companies there is good requirement enough to get a job

im doing my mtech(ece) in one of the local coleges in hyderabad.and its a very reputational colg and it has many placements too,that too on campus.but many of dem in our college are telling that IT companies dont prefer MTECh ppl as compared to btech.even though they call us they only prefer btech ppl,wat do u suggest regarding dis??pls rply

I think In an IT industry Your quality is main factor,a M.tech employee always get more attention and salary than a B.tech employee...
And also you get more better oppurtunity than B.tech,so i think M.tech is Very useful in IT industry for Job security and a bright future....

yes you are right mostly M.TECH people are consider for r&d and other field like DRDO,ISRO......
software either consider B.TECH or MCA ....

Better to try in government jobs there is much scope in that side than in software jobs....
