iam currently pursuing automobile engineering from gurgaon. and i want to know that what should i prefer, mba or ms. since, i dnt no much bout ms can ny1 tell some major collgs who offer ms in automobile engineering..... plz guys help me out.

also i want to know that which mba field would be better for me. as i am n automobile engineer n i love ma branch, so i want to go for operation, or marketing. i dnt no much about thez branches, so plz if u can tell me something about these fields n thr scope it will be very gratefull of u.

Whether it is MS or MBA, you can go for Operation Management which is closely connected with automobile Engineering.

MBA in operation management from a reputed Institute will fetch you better career options.

Opertion management collectively includes purchase management, inventory management and is in high demand in areas like supply chain management and ERP

Since you are fond of automobile industry, this would be most suitable for you. You would be responsible for taking care of entire plant, on the whole maintenance of the plant.

Many automobile sectors are booming now and hence scope of MBA in operation management is immense.

No doubt that MS is a highly valueable course but MS is a basically a research Oriented degree, and best for those who wants to explore the career in R & D departments.

Also MS degree is offered by very few Institutes in India. Some famous one are- IIT's, IISC, BITS etc. and admission is based on very good GATE result.

So, better you can opt either for M.Tech or MBA.

Since you want to opt for MBA then going for Operation or Marketing is really a good option. Specially being an Engineer MBA(Operation) will be better.


So, go for MBA after you Engineering, but try to get into some reputed Institutes.

Both MBA & MS are respectable courses but they will give different direction to your career. While MS will restrict you to the automobile & related industries MBA will provide you opportunities to explore diverse sectors.

MBA in operations will definately be more beneficial for you than MBA in marketing. Marketing is more of field work & it has little to do with actual production. But if you will take operations as your major in MBA then you will get the chance to work in production & other related departments. Here, you can also utilize your knowledge of automobile engineering.

But if your area of interest is R&D & you love to work in the automobile & related field you can pursue MS in automobile engineering.

The 'MS' degree is a master degree program commonly termed as Master of Science or Master in Subject.
There is no provision of this degree in India. In India the master degree provided by various universities including IITs, IISCs, IIS etc are M.Tech or MSc.
The MS program is offered in foreign universities which is very much research oriented and of course more valuable than the M. Tech or MSc.

If you are willing to do MS then you will have to appear in a test known as, GRE: Graduate Record Examination.
The test has two parts; 1. English 2. Maths. Both 800 marks.

Now, I would like to tell you that there should be no confusion to select either MS or MBA. You can ask from yourself. If you are interested to continue your studies in the same stream or you really want to do something great in your field then go for master degree in automobile engineering.
If you are just doing your automobile engineering just for being a graduate then better go for MBA.

If you can afford for MS then surely go for it. MS can be done from India as well from Abroad.

Try for abroad. If you can get abroad then you will surely land up a plush job. But as i said before the fees for MS is around 15 to 20 Lakhs a Year. So think about it

Otherwise i would say go for MBA. The best course in MBA nowadays is Marketing i guess. The job is really cool and is recession proof. Salary payments are also very good here and you may even get lots of perks too from the company side

Better consider whats best for you and take up your final decision

after your B.tech it is better to do mtech.if you have interest in your core subjects.it will help to get a core job easily.

if you are not interested to do core job.then it is better to do MBA.after doing MBA you will have lots of job opportunites.

I have compeleted automobile engg from mumbai university these year,I want to do master in automobile but i m confuse in which stream means either in production,designing in chasis or engine or aerodynamic study or in transportation design,which one is better or u suggest any other stream in master auto engg or anything apart from master.and help me with the college. I also have interest aviation industry,pls help me in this topic.MS is unaffortable for me ............

in Management discipline can be treated as par with Ph.d in Engineeing discpline for awarding
promotion under career advancement scheme of AICTE in a technical institution or not ?

MS is more research eccentric. If you want to build your career in teaching field in universities or doing research for companies or universities, then MS is advisable.

If you want to build your career in market doing jobs in Automobile Industries then MBA with specialization in Automobile Management is most recommended.

I would recommend you to go for MBA which has more value and will attract more jobs for you. There are some Institutes/Colleges in India who provide specialization in Automobile Management.
