IGNOU, Certificate in Teaching of English, CTE-5, Teaching English (Secondary School) Papers is designated for the candidates to excel in the teaching skill and their knowledge on the particular subject. Questions from unseen passages, different writing skills e.g. notes writing, paragraph writing, and the teaching skills are asked in the paper. The teaching skills are also evaluated in the paper. The question paper contains 6-7 questions from which 5 have to be attempted. Every question has 5-6 parts of it. Each question carries 20 marks. Total marks in the paper are 100 and time allotted for it is 2 hours.
