Eligibility for UPSC Exams

For UPSC Civil Service Exams, you are definitely eligible..

According to the UPSC guidelines, you need to fulfill the following conditions :-

1) You should be a graduate in any stream or in the final year of your graduation from a recognized college..

2) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

The maximum number of attempts permissible for the general category is 4,for OBC its 7 and for SC/ST there is no limit..

For UPSC Indian Engineering Service Exams everything is same as above except for the fact that it is meant only for the B.Tech degree holders from the following streams

Civil Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunications
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering

All the best..

~Hope this helps.. ~

Dear pal, you are eligible to write the upsc exam. To write the exam the minimum educational qualification is a bachelor degree in any field and your age must be within 30 for general candidates with age relaxation as per government norms. Hello Sudha,
Final Year student are eligible to write exams conducted by union public service commission.
As per the commission's guidelines, candidates who are in the final year can apply for the exams but are required to provide the certificates, marks sheet etc. to appear for the next stage of the exam, which in some case is a written exam and in some case it is interview. Therefore, it can be said that the candidates who are in the final year are only eligible to appear for the first stage of the exam. To move on to the next stages, he/she have to provide the necessary documents.

Can final year B.Tech students eligible for UPSC Exam?

Here your question is incomplete in the sense that you have not provided any information about your branch in B.Tech . UPSC conducts so many exams and not all the students of all branches are eligible to appear in all upsc exams like -IES exam in which computer science and IT students are not eligible to appear .

So you should have provided total information regarding your branch .But if you are asking about IAS exam ,then yes you are eligible .The eligibility criteria for appearing in an IAS exam are as follows :
  • The candidate should be a citizen of india
  • AGE-21 to 30 years
  • There has been a proposal of age relaxation upto 3 years for obc candidate and 5 years for sc/st candidates.
  • You must have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.
  • For more details and latest updates ,please visit the official website of upsc that is http://www.upsc.gov.in
