ya its far better.If you are an electrical engg you have many public sector job options like NTPC,BHEL, ONGC,BEL ,SAIL,UPSC,Indian Army etc. Its a core branch so you need to labour hard in this field with good %age of atleast 60 n basic concepts.

It doesnt matter that which subject you are choosing .
Important thing is that have should have command over that subject.
Subject can be electrical engineering or history or maths or anything else.

There is no meaning of better subject in civil services exams. It entirely depends upon your hard labour and sincerety. You can make any subject easy by labouring hard . Good luck

yes it is a good subject coming to percentage of success it depends not only one subject you need to be good in other areas like g.k, English...etc.........so prepare well and ALL THE BEST.......

No doubt electrical enginering is a good subject for the preparation of civil services but it would not be good to compare it with the arts subject.Because a subject is not easy or hard, it depends on the interest of the student.If you are good in electrical enginneging then obviously it woyld be easier for you than arts subject.Now your question is % of success through electrical engineering , i want to inform you that successof %is very good through this subject.

I am a BE 2008 passed student now working. I went through some of the theory subject syllabus but i felt its not my cup of tea. I am very much interested in electrical engineering subject for mains but m afraid about the success rate and history or any other thoery student overshadows me!!

Yes its better option for civil services then when you are more interested in electrical engineering, you have covered whole syllabus of electrical engineering, because it is so much hard, so according to me you should go for History, and political science, because i am also a electrical engineering student and prepare myself in the field of History for civil services.

Selection is based on you interest.

You can chose any subject you can want in which you have good grasp.
If you want to chose electrical engineering then you have to work hard to qualify the exam.

Yes,Electrical engineering subject is better than the arts. In electrical engineering you get easily job in core and software companies.

so is it possible to choose different subjct 4 civil services even if u complete ur graduation frm another field ?

Yes, absolutely. You should attempt GATE and get a good all india rank in order to get into the IITs for your M.Tech

CSAT Exam consists of questions from the following categories

Current Affairs
General English
Aptitude

Where as for Main exam, you need to select one optional subject from the list of the optional subjects that are available.

Electrical Engineering is one of the optional subject which is a good choice for the candidates.

You did not mention your highest level of academic qualification and the respective stream.

If you have completed Electrical Engineering, then this subject is a good choice for you for civil services exam.

Otherwise I suggest you to opt for the optional subject in accordance with the stream that you have gone through in your Graduation.

You should be in the age group of 21-30 years to apply for this Exam.

In addition, the nationality of the candidate should be India.

Have good preparation for this Exam and crack it.
