As you know , Assam Public Service Examination , is the examination that is conducted by Assam State every year , it is similar to the UPSC examination :

Examinations are conducted by the APSC:

1) Combined Competitive Examination.
2)Departmental Examinations.

Combined Competitive Examination

As per requisition of the Govt. of Assam for recruitment in various posts to the Civil Services, advertisement is generally published through print media inviting applications in prescribed form.

The written examination consists of two stages:

1) The Preliminary
2)The Main Examination

Preliminary Examination Syllabus consist of :

Paper l : General Studies : 200 marks

Paper-II : One optional subject to be selected from the list of optional subjects:

What kind of topics are covered under general studies paper.what shiuld be the preparation.

If you are from the state of west Bengal then also you will be eligible to appear in Assam Public Service commission.Any candidates whose Nationality is Indian will be eligible to appear in Assam Public Service commission.The only difference is that you will not get any relaxations as per Assam Governments and you will be treated as a General Candidates.

Assam Civil Services exam will be conducted in two phases.These are :-

1. Preliminary Exam.
2. Mains Exam.

Preliminary Exam will consists of two papers each of two hours durations.Each paper will be of 200 marks.The questions will be objective type with multiple choice and questions will be from :

1. Paper I - General Studies.
2. Paper II - Optional Subjects.

Mains Exam will consists of written test and total number of papers will be six.Each paper will be of 200 marks and each paper will be of 2 hours.Questions will be from :

1. Paper I - General Studies.
2. Paper II - General English.
3. Paper III and IV - Optional Subjects.
4. Paper V and VI - Optional Subjects.
