Since you have scored 65% in M.Sc Statistics, you can definitely go for Phd in Statistics provided you have done throughout in your +2 as well as graduation. Complete academic records are taken into consideration by universities before allowing any candidate to do Phd. from the university.

Some of the best institutes from where you may pursue Phd are as follows:

Indian Statistical Institute
Annamalai University
Indian Institute Of Technology
University Of Mysore

For more information, refer to the official website of the institutes mentioned above.

Yes, you can. after completing your masters with min 55% you need to qualify a tests such as GATE/CSIR-NET/ JEST and TIFR /NEST /SLET etc. if you qualify written ,then you ‘ll be called for interview. In some university you ‘ll be required to undergo their separate written test and interview.Phd is offered in two modes:Part Time and Full Time

Part Time: A candidate has to attend classes on weekends.

Full Time: A candidate has to attend regular classes(5–6 days a week).

The best colleges are:

ISI- Indian statistical institute

IIT K

Delhi university

Lovely Professional University

St Xavier's college mumbai

Lady shri ram college for women

Indian school of mines

Loyola college chennai

You can apply reputed institutions for phd along with a research proposal. if you clear NET it will be consider as an additional qualification. Qualifying JRF will get you financial assistance for carrying out phd. Most of the research institutions conduct entrance exam and personal interview for admission.75% weightage will be given to your entrance score and 25% will be given to personal interview. For more information check their websites. All the best.
