This examination is conducted by UPSC to recruit eligible candidates for Indian Forest Service (IFS). The duration of the exam is usually 10 days. General knowledge paper is a compulsory paper for all attempting IFS examination. The paper is for a total of 300 marks and the allotted time is 3 hours. The questions are mainly based on the current issues. There will be questions from geography and history of India. The paper consists of three sections. The examination consists of descriptive questions only. A question will have sub sections and a candidate has to answer any 3 of them.
