Yes. You are eligible to join Indian Army after completion of 12th class in arts stream. But it is not possible for you to directly join in Indian Army after completion of 12th class.

Instead, you need to go through the selection procedure of
-Written Exam
-Interview
followed by a medical test to be placed in Indian Army.

The Entrance Exam is NDA Exam which is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year.

In order to be eligible for this Exam,

-You should have completed 12th class with any of the stream.
-Even the final year candidates of 10+2 are also eligible to take up this Exam.
-One should be in the age group of 16 1/2 years to 19 years to be eligible for this Exam
-Apart from the above criteria, first a candidate should be an unmarried male candidate to be eligible for this Exam.

As you are fulfilling the required academic qualification for this Exam, if you are a candidate in the age group of 16 1/2 years to 19 years, you are eligible to apply for NDA Exam.

You can get the application forms for this Exam from the designated post offices all over India.

For this academic year, NDA I Exam is going to be conducted on 15-04-2012.

The last date to apply for this Exam is by 30-01-2012.

Eligibility for Indian Army:-

1.Candidate has to complete the 12th class in any trade or its equivalent course from a recognized central/state education board..

2.Age should be in between 16.5-19 years.

3.Candidate must be unmarried male.

4.Candidate should be a citizen of India.

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill..

As you have done 12th class in arts stream then you can apply for NDA exam.

Dear friend you can join defense service by clearing CDS (Combined Defense Service) examination conducted by UPSC
After you clear out the CDS exam you will be called for SSB/SSC camp which of duration of 8 to 12 days
Here in camp you have to clear some more examinations like
1.) screening test which includes aptitude test
2.)Group test, here a group of candidates are given some task to complete
3.)story writing
4.)Intelligence test
5.)Group discussions
6.)Interview ETC
When clear these you will under go medical test, after clearing medical test you will selected on all India merit

* NDA exam is conducted twice in a year by UPSC.

* You can join Indian Army Through NDA exam.

In order to be eligible for NDA Exam , you have to consider on the following :

a) You must have passed 12th with a minimum of 45% from any recognized college / school.

b) You must be an Indian Citizen.

c) Your age must lie in between 16.5-19 years.

d) You should be unmarried.

As you have mentioned that you have completed +2 in Arts,the chances of you getting in the Indian Army is that you have to write the NDA exam.

You must be a citizen of India and the candidate must be a unmarried male candidate.

The age limit for the NDA exam for joining in Indian Army is that you need to have a age limit of 16 1/2-19 years.

Education qualification needed for the NDA exam is that you must have completed +2 from a recognized board of school education with a fair percentage.

Candidate must be physically fit while appearing for the NDA exam as it is a defence force exam.

After passing class 12th, you can only apply to the NDA exams only

CDS exams can only be applied after completing your Graduation.


Eligibilty to apply to the NDA exams is:
12th pass for the Army wing
12th pass with Phy and Maths as subjects for the Airforce and Navy wing

Age- Minimum 16.5 years
Maximum 19 years

Only MALE candidates can apply to the NDA exams

Notification will come out on 4th May 2013 for the next NDA exams
Next NDA exams will be held on 11th August 2013

After passing 12th you can join Indian Army.

For this you have to qualify the entrance exam like National Defence Academy.

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

Age limit for N.D.A exam is 16.5-19 year.

You can apply both online and offline.

How to join Indian Army after 12th Arts

You can be from any stream for joining the Indian Army..

Unlike the Air Force and Navy, joining the Army Wing does not pose any restriction on your class 12th subjects or stream..

After 12th..I would advise you to go in for the NDA Exam..

The National Defence Academy Exam or the NDA Exam is held in April and August by the UPSC for recruitment of candidates to these wings :-

> Naval Wing
> Army Wing
> Air Force Wing

For joining the Indian Army through the NDA Exam..an applicant must possess the following minimum eligibility criterion :-

> Age within the range of 16 1/2 years to 19 years..(no age relaxation for any category)

> Applicant can only be an unmarried male for appearing in this examination..

> Applicants should have done their 12th boards from a recognized board in any stream..

The release date of forms for the NDA Examination is 4th May,2013

The last date for form submission will be 3rd June,2013

The exam is scheduled to take place on 11th August,2013
