For becoming an IAS Officer you have to be graduate from any recognized university.So you can do for a graduate course in engineering,medical,arts or science.But mainly taking Arts course in Indian history will help you in the long run. So better go for any one of these.It is all upto you.... have a bright career..

The Basic qualification to appear for an UPSC examination is You should posses any degree . simply you must be a graduate. then you have to apply for the upsc examination then have to clear prilliminary rounds. IAS is not post given by your studies it is an power.so you have to equipyourself.

There is no particular course for IAS. You should be a graduate in any stream to be eligible for the exam. Selection of bachelors program must be based on your interest and expertise.

The IAS examination comprises of three stages
Civil Service Aptitude Test
Main Examination
Interview

The compulsary subjects for the Main exam are one Indian language, English, Essay and General studies.

Following are the optional subject from which one can select any subjects depending upon the area of expertise.
Agriculture Mathematics, Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science, Mechanical Engineering Botany, Medical Science, Chemistry, Philosophy, Civil Engineering, Physics, Commerce,Political Science ,Economics ,Psychology Electrical Engineering Public Administration, Geography, Sociology, Geology, Statistics, Indian,History, Zoology,Law.
There are many books available in the book stores you can go through for the preparation of the exam. You must not restrict yourself to a single book written by a particular author. Try to read books written by as many authors as possible. Apart from preparing from reference books, you may also enroll yourself to a good institute or coaching center which prepares candidates for such examinations.
So, you must work hard in your bachelors degree program and prepare for IAS along with it.

There is no specific course that you should do to become IAS. From this year CSAT is introduced so now you cannot clear prelims by just reading more & more books. From now subject exams will come only in mains. Graduation is very important part for preparation of civils. If You have interest in history then opt. for B.A.(History) . it will have two benefits you will be graduated in 3 yrs & you will get in depth knowledge of your subject which will help you in writing mains questions.

if you become an IPS officer you prepare the Examination syllabus and take admission in any Graduate degree clear the exam with high ranks & get the job.

you took a good step,in ias exam g.k and english is compulsory but in optional subject arts and science both subjects are avliable,so please do your graduation with your interested subjects and choose these subjects for ias exam.

The eligibility criteria for IAS is a graduate from any recognized university.So it is completely depends upon your interest that what should you study after 12th or in which area you are strong.
However Arts subjects are more easier than those of science and engg.Even many science and engg graduates cleared IAS by keeping arts subjects like History and Public Administration.

U need to do graduation only to appear for civil service.

For IAS the minimum educational qualification is a graduate .

The minimum educational qualification required for becoming an IAS officer is that the candidate must have passed bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Final year candidates can also apply.

So to become an IAS officer you must complete your graduation first. Though there is no percentage criteria but it is always better to score good marks.

You can pursue graduation in any discipline depending up on your interest & knowledge as well as your stream in 12th.

If you are from science background then you should do honours in any one subject like zoology,botany,physics,chemistry etc. This will help you in selecting one main exam during ias prepration. Besides that for second main subject you can study psycology. This subj can be taken by any student of any stream .

First you need to complete your graduation with any of the stream i.e either from science, commerce or arts whichever is your stream and then you will be eligible to appear in IAS exam conducted by UPSC.

There is no such particular course to become an IAS, only you need to appear in Examination. But you may take coaching for preparing for the exam as there is vast course to cover.

Eligibility criteria for CSE

-> you should have a degree from a recognized university.

-> your age should be minimum of 21 years and should not exceed 30 years


this is what simply the eligibility for your goal.

so by this , answer for your question is clear..

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC in every year. For appear in IAS exam the minimum eligibility criteria is graduation in any stream from a recognize University and the age must be between 21 to 30 years.
So if you complete 12th class then i advise you to do
graduation course. You can do graduation course in any stream according

You can choose any of the graduation course. It doesn't matter which course you opt.

But from this year this preliminary examination is replaced by CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test ) which focuses on aptitude and there is no optional subject.

So, from now onward start practicing for aptitude test.

You dont need to do any particular course after 12th examination.

To become an IAS Officer, you need a bachelor degree from any recognised colleges and university. So, if you are interested to become a IAS officer, then please complete your grauation first from any stream as per your interest.

After completing your 12th examination, you are eligible to apply for IAS examination. But to apply for IAS, your age should between 21 to 30 years, and there is no age relaxation applicable for general candidates. the age relaxation is only applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates.

So, if you are intrested to become IAS Officer, then please complete your graduation from any stream, then you are eligible to apply for IAS Examination. for IAS exam as any Graduate from a recognised university or a college in India is the minimum eligibility criteria for IPS.

He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination.

UPSC conduct CIVILSERVICE exam for top service like IAS,IPS,IFS and for other government jobs.Even this onwards the pattern of exam also changed as it doesnot have any special subject and the paper will be same for all the candidates.

you can do any one course from b.tech, bsc, bca, b.com, bba, ba, etc because for giving ias exam, the student must have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students.
if you are having these qualifications, then only you can give the exam.
there will be three rounds in the exam. firstly, you will have to give the preliminary exam. this exam will be of objective questions.
after qualifying in that exam, you will have to give the main exam, which will be in written form.
after passing both the exams, you will be called for the personal interview.
after passing that interview, you will become an ias officer.
