sir,my name is jayakanth and 24yrs old.now i am working in indian army as soldier of army medical corps.i have done my Bsc mathematics with ncc 'c' certificate.i would like to apply for indian army officer post.now i confused sir,pls guide me...........

You can apply Indian Army for the officer post through CDS entrance exam.

CDS stands for COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II for entry in to:-

INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY
INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY
INDIAN AIR FORCE ACADEMY
INDIAN OFFICER'S TRAINING ACADEMY

The candidate must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good physical and Mental condition, is eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy of CDS.

The selection is through written exam followed by personal interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.

You can also apply for Indian Army officer post through NCC SPECIAL ENTRY SCHEME.

The candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 20 to 27 years of age with good Physical Fitness along with NCC 'C' Certificate with at least 'B' grade, is eligible to apply for Indian Army through this Entry.

if you are 12th pass and between 16 to 19 years age then you can go for NDA exam to be selected as Army officer and if you pass from graduation course than you can opt for CDS exam for becoming an Army officer otherwise if u pass graduation from Engineering or medical branches than you can join as Army officer for Engineering or Medical Posts in Indian Army.

As specified in Indian Army Technical for PSC Officer jobs notification and having qualification 10+2 with PCM from the university/ Institute recognized by the Government of India with relevant experience (if any) are eligible to apply for the post.

Eligibility Conditions:

sir. as you are a engineer so there are a lots of opportunities to you to join indian army.
you can apply for CDS which is conducted by UPSC twice in a year for the recruitment of officers in the all three wings of force.
AFCAT is another option to join indian airforce.
MES i.e military engineering services.are another option..there are alots of way through which you will be a part fo indain armay.
you just need to remain update so read regulaer news papers or be in touch with the army websites.

There are many patterns of entry. After clearing the CDS exam, you will go for training in Officers Training Academy, Indian Military Academy. They get commissioned into the various Arms and Services of the Indian Army after 49 weeks training. For the eligibility part, they need to be a graduate to apply. According to the revised conditions of Service of SSCOs (Men and Women both Technical and Non-Technical), tenure of Short Service Commission in Army will be granted for 14 years. On completing two years’ service, they pick up the rank of Captain followed by Major on completion of 6 years’ service. After 13 years of service, they pick up the rank of LT.Col.

According to your statement you can join in Indian Army wing as officer.You have 2(two)options become an Indian Officer.

1.Through UPSC conducted NDA entrance examination.

2.Through UPSC conducted CDS entrance examination.

NDA Eligibility:-

1.A 12th standard can apply for NDA entrance exam.
2.Age: Candidates age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years.
3.An Indian unmarried male can write NDA entrance exam.
4.Candidates eyesight should be normsal free from color blindness.

CDS Eligibility:-

1.Any Graduate or a final year candidate can write CDS entrance examination.
2.Age: 19-25 years for Indian Army wing.
3.Marital Status: Single.
4.Male/Female both can write CDS entrance examination.
