I am in final semester of B.tech(electronics and communication).I want to know what is the scope of MBA in telecom management.

dear friend, there are very good scope of mba in telecom management.........MBA from specific field is always different from normal MBA.

MBA in telecom is also offered by SITM.

Their is always pros and cons of doing MBA in specialized field. You need to check how much are you interested in the same. India's tele density is still far low when compared to other countries and thus their is much more space to be explored.

Aegis School of Business and Telecommunication offers One year MBA in telecom management and the fees of this college is around 5 lackh. there are very good scope of mba in telecom in india. so i will suggest you, to appear mba from this university.

Scope in MBA Telecom is always very promissing. Rapid increase in MVNO's and OEM's in India had made Telecom sector more reliable on Management executives then Engineers and Technicians.


There is nothing to worry, you have decided well. Pakage is also handsome a Fresher can expect anything between 2.5 lacs-3.5 lacs per annumn.

However, an MBA from reputed institute like IIM's etc. can expect more.

4) MBA dergee holders can always expect better pay package then PGDM.

So, now you can decide which is better MBA or PGDM.

TELECOMMUNICATION now became a great scope in engineering and also in MBA course. now they stared part time class for that course. due to the developement in the mobile , DCS,SCADA they play the great role.SATELLATE is the main background of telecommunication. i hope feature is in TELECOMMUNICATION SIDE 70%.

Hi dear friend... there is a very good scope in MBA in telecom management.... this field is very good and it is a bit different from unlike other normal MBA courses....
there are many institutes offering this course such as SITM and Aegis school of business and telecommunications...

MIT SCHOOL OF TELECOM MANAGEMENT which is popularly known as MITSOT. Is among the one of India's best Institute for Telecom studies.

Dont worry for that its an Excellent Place for studing Any type of Post graduate Diploma course in Telecom Management.

MISOT has excellent placement record in MNC's like- Wiprpro, Rliance communications, Airtel ltd. etc.

Admission is based on an Online Entrance which is followed by GD and PI. Entrance.

MBA stands for Master in Business Administration.

You are going to have core knowlegde in Tel com industry. After completion of B- Tech u will be working in the industry as an implementor, researcher, Maintaince depts, etc. But once u go for MBA u can even work at management level where most of the discion are taken.

MBA in any feild has a Potential and with your unique knowlege u can go miles in your carear.

Since you are an Engineering graduate in the communication stream you have the good opportunity to join the MBA in Telecom management and it is a high value subject if the base degree is B.E in ECE. You can have plenty of vacancies in the government sector like BSNL and MTNL also the private sectors like Vodafone and Aircel are often hiring the candidates with this background.

its one of the upcoming area with good development and promising career prospects....but you cannot expect a job just by getting a degre...it requires some extra involvement and some home work....any way all the best...

Yeah you can Enroll for Telecom Company in some executive post, but there also you would be eligible to work in HR Department only.

Means you can be a part of Telecom Company, but can not work in Telecom Management, but can handle HR Works there.

Say you must work as HR Head, HR executive, HR Manager etc.......

Telecom is one the fastest growing segments, especially mobile. Hence opportunities seems to be booming in this sector. Symbiosis launched MBA in telecom management and in my experience there is not much big different between doing general MBA and doing it in telecom management except for the projects you do. I would prefer doing a general MBA and doing some project with telecom operator if you want to get in to this industry

i totally disagree with Faiyaz. No doubt PGDM was condidered as an obsolete degree but the trend has again reverted. let me give a precise example..iim passouts untill 2009 were awarded either mba or PGPM degree. but now, according to new ruling they are also giving PGDM degrees.

i have done m.sc. in telecom from smu and want to waht further i can do in same field. only correspondence course.

Enrolling for E-MBA or MBA through distance or Coresspondance is good option, you cn persue your Executive MBA with specialisation in Telecom MAnagement or related field:-

Sikkim Maniapl University (There are various College affiliate to SMU which provide PGD or E-MBA).

Well dear,

Regular MBA is always better then Partime or Corresspondance one. So if have the oppurtunity for Regular MBA then its better to opt for it only.

Partime or Corresspondance one is better for working professionals as they are in there Mid-Level Career,so that they can expect more promising oppurtunities.

So, decide well before acting.

Since you are already a working executive you can Enrolling for even Corresspondance or E-MBA program is also valueable for you.

It will also add the same for you.

MBA Regular is always better then corresspondance or Executive or Partime one but if you have to enroll for the same for the sacke of your present job then its not a good decision, as it will harm your Mid-level career.

So, think wisely before acting towards any decision.

I checked on net and i found symbiosis is only providing MBA in telecom management.
Othrs B schools of managements are there,but i m not getting concepts of theses B-School.are they really gud ?
Is there any other colg for this MBA to which CAT or CET score will be applicable?
and one more ques ,i hear fees of Symbiosis is 5 lakh for 2 yeras.So insted of doing it from SITM,MBA in abroad will be benificial?

if you will do the mba in telecommunication from the well reputed collge,

then it will brought many campus job.

but as far as off campus job. you will get the more preference specially in the communication fields.
