please send previous years iist model question papers and syllabus for Chemistry,physics,maths.

IIST UG entrance exam model question papers are available for download on the following sites :-

Previously IIST conducts admission through IITJEE,but from this yearit has launched ISAT for admission to its B.tech programs.

Since,ISAT is launched this year,and it is very first year of ISAT sample papers are not available.

How,would sample papers will be available since it is the very first year of ISAT.

However,I have attached the syllabus for ISAT which also contains some sample papers.That PDF file was itself provided by IIST so there is nothing to worry just check it out.

Sorry bro but i dont think IIST papers are available for download online. Maybe you can try and find in a bookstore.

But IIST is of AIEEE level i guess so you can prepare yourself for AIEEE and for IIST you will automatically get prepared.

I dont agree with mr.edward ISAT is new entrance,so how can we have sample papers for it.

the pattern is 3 marks for right answer and -1 for wrong answer,

all the papers contains a separate section each for physics,maths and chemistry.....

This is the new year for IIST. So, maybe it not possible to get the sample paper. But dont loose hope, IIST is somewhat like IITJEE. So, you can prepare from IITJEE sample papers. All the best for your exam!

i have passed out my 10 2 in 2010 and also applied for wbjee and viteee in 2010 but didn't get a chance due to poor rank. i want to appear for iist in 2011. can i be able to?

Yeas of course why not !

But eligibility criteria is such that.

Candidate should have scored at least 70% in both 10+2. So, if meet this criteria then wait for next year notification to be released.

I appreciate your clear concept towards your goal

1) You have to acquire anyone of the following degree from a good institute like IIT or IISC or IIST (most suitable).

P.hd (Astro physics).
P.hd (Geophysics).
P.hd (Metaphysics) I mean to say any branch of physics which leads to space science,these are few examples.

You can persue these degrees from IIT's or IISc,after acquiring these degrees from there you can appear for entrance conducted by NASA at international level for recruiting Astronauts,Scientists etc.You can also work with our country's ISRO various entrance are cionducted by ISRO for recruiting Scientists and engineers for carrying Space reasearch or various jobs.

M.tech/P.hd (Aerospace engineering)
M.tech.P.hd (Aeronautical engineering)

If someone doesn't able to study engineering then it doesn't means that he has to stop achieving those dreams. One can persue MAster/P.hd from Reputed Institutes like-- IIT's, IISc, and other Universities of NAtional or State Importance, Foreign Universities.

Better to persue these degrees from IIST.IIST conducts Admission to its specialied courses which leads in space tecnhnology.For entering into IIST you have to crack ISAT or IITJEE after that you will be provided Admission into B.tech if you have good performance in B.tech then you would also offered M.tech or P.hd. all study there is free of cost,after aquiring degree from there yopu will be absorb as an Scientist of ISRO.

2) Becoming an Astronaut, or Space Scientist is not all about going to space. Going into space is the only 10% of the work, rest of 90% are carried out by Astronomers, Scientists and other Technicians. Only the best among Astronomers, Scientists, Commandant Officers etc. are offered to be a "Astronaut" so it can be understand that becoming a Astronauts is Tough then tougher, one can not promise or make your sure about it.

3) Differenciation between Aerospace, Aeronautical and Avionics

Aero = Air, Space = Space including Earth, whole solar system.

Aerospace refer to all in and outside the Earth. Aerospace is responsible for Design, Develop, Maintain, construction of Both Flying Vehicles which works within earth's gravitationa fields or we can say atmosphere. In short it is reponsible for Making of Planes, Space crafts, Satellites, Missiles etc.

Whereas Aeronautical Engineering is nothing but the sub branch or modified form of Aerospace Engineering. Former being Father, while the later being Son. Or we can say Aeronautical Engineering is the limited version of Aerospace engineering, which can help in making of Planes (Aeroplanes, Helicopters, Airforce planes and equipments), Missile Making (land to land etc.).

Understand Like this Honourable Dr. Abdul Kalam (The Missile Man) is a Aeronautical Engineer, whereas Kalpana Chawla was an Aerospace Engineer.

Avionics, is the Electronic part of Aerospace Engineering, which looks for maintanance, development, manufacturing of Electronics part of Spacecrafts, Satellite etc. Communication, Navigationm, Radar etc. comes under it.

Hi! I m Ruchir frm Ranchi. I've fixed my goal to be an astronaut since std 3. Now I m in std 12, I dnt study much bcoz I dnt believe in studying too much.I love physics bcoz I dont have to memorise it, I just learn it from my surrounding , I never open my physics book.
