im interested to do B.E aeronautical engineering.many say that there is no scope for girls in this field.im in confusion.please help me by giving a good reply regarding the course ,colleges ,fee structure and placement results...

You should go for B.Tech in Aeronautical without having anything to worry about. I don't know what people have told you but there is no such thing as gender bias in Aeronautical Engineering, neither there is a case of companies prefering boys candidates over girls for any particular reason.

You have as good chance of getting job after B.Tech in Aeronautical like any other boy out there. Aeronautical is considered as one of the most difficult field in Engineering. It deals with designing, maintaining and developing aircrats as well the air turbine production plants in the aviation industry. Aeronautical Engineering is not just limited to aviation sector, building satellites, missiles are also part of Aeronautical engineering.

Aeronautical Engineering Eligibility Criteria

You must pass Class 12th in Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Maths)

Then you are required to appear in a Engineering entrance exam like

AIEEE

IIT-JEE etc

The fee varies from college to college however the four years B.Tech course will cost you around 3 to 7 Lakh unless you take admission in government colleges that tends to be cheaper.

Aeronautical Engineering Job Prospects

You can get well paid job not just in India but around the world. You can join any passenger aircraft building company like Boeing or helicopter manufacturer. You can work for government agencies are build spacecrafts or satellite. There is also scope to work in defence sector companies and help build military aircrafts and missle. Places you can apply for jobs are;

The salary for Aeronautical Engineers in the government sector starts from Rs40,000 and goes up to Rs 1.5 Lakh where private sector tends to pay more with starting salary of Rs 1.5 lakh that can go up to Rs 3 Lakh.

Various public sector firms offer rewarding job positions to Aeronautical Engineers. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd recruits these professionals to the posts of Assistant Engineers, Assistant Design Engineer, etc with a basic pay scale of Rs. 20, 000 to Rs. 40, 000/- per month. National Aeronautical Lab (NAL) often recruits these candidates in to the post of Technical Officer/ Assistant.

Firms like WNS appoint candidates in to the post of Airline Process Associate for meeting their back office operations. Defense Research and Development Organization carry out DRDO-SET examination for selecting engineering graduates to the position of Scientists. The basic salary package offered for these jobs may be in the range of 15,000-35,000/- per month. They can also find opportunities with MNC with a pay scale of Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 8.5 lakh annum. Pawan Hans Helicopter recruits fresher in to the post of graduate engineer trainees and after probation they can move in to the position of Aeronautical Engineer, Flight Coordinator, etc.
