After completion of Master of Education (M.Ed) program, you can definitely take the National Eligibility Test provided you have qualified the masters degree examination with 55% or more. However, if you belong to SC/ST category, you may take the test even if you have scored 50% marks in the qualifying examination. Now, as per the guidelines prescribed by University Grant Commission, in order to be considered eligible for Junior research Fellowship, candidate, apart from possessing the aforementioned qualification, must not be over 28 years of age. There is no maximum age limit for candidates taking the National Eligibility Test only for Lectureship.

Since you are pursuing Masters of Education, you will be considered eligible to take the National Eligibility Test in Education and in order to check out the syllabus, Click Here.

Yes you certainly can appear for the National Eligibility Test by the University Grants Commission after completing Masters in Education degree. M.Ed is also seen as post graduation course therefore makes you eligible to appear in the NET entrance exam.

However you are required to meet the other requirements and criteria for the NET Entrance exam. Unable to do so, you would not be able to appear for the NET entrance exam. In such scenario I would recommend that you appear for the Teachers Eligibility Test and apply for government teacher's job.

In case you are eligible for the National Eligibility Test, then start preparing for the exam since it would be taking place in December. The NET entrance exam takes place twice a year, once in June and then in December. The forms of the December exam would be made available online in few days time. You should visit the official website of UGC-NET to submit the form online. This is the only way to submit the form as for now.

Eligibility

>> You should be Indian national.

>> A post graduation degree in any stream is required.

>> At least 55 percent marks in post graduation course.

>> The requirement for SC/ST is 50 percent marks.

>> Final year students can also apply for NET.

>> But they need to submit their degrees within two years of passing the NET exam.

>> You will have to choose the subject of your post graduation degree for the NET exam.

>> The age limit for JRF is 28 years.

>> However up to 5 years relaxation is given to reserve category candidates.

>> There is no age limit for Lectureship.

>> Neither there is any limit on number of attempts.
