Dear friend,

As you are ECE student in B.Tech pursuing 2nd year, so you must choose that Optional Subject in Mains Exam which suits you best.

Civil Services Exam is conducted by UPSC in three stages:

>> Preliminary Exam (CSAT Exam)

>> Mains Exam

>> Personal Interview

You will have to crack all three stages to crack IAS Exam (Civil Services Exam).

Upcoming Civil Services Exam will be commenced on 26 May 2013.

Dear Friend,

It is a good idea to start your preparation early but you have to make sure that you don’t screw your Engineering studies. You will have to manage your time really well and try to concentrate on both the things in parallel.

You should start with following things:

1. Read The Hindu daily and thoroughly
2. Revise all NCERT books from class 6th to class 12th
3. Read India Year book every year
4. Read Chronicle magazine regularly

I think this will be enough during your Engineering. After completing your B.Tech. you can buy books and start full-fledged preparation.

You have to start Preparation from now to crack IAS exam.

1.Register yourself to UPSC official site at http://upscportal.com/

2.Read newspapers daily and mark out some important points you feel is important.

something related to current affairs and general knowledge.

3.Subscribe to The Hindu,

The Indian Express and Economic Times as these three will cover your GK,Current Affairs


and Economics papers and English Papers

4. Let your interest and aspiration be your teacher .

5.Follow just 1 method and not many as you will be misguided if you opt various methods.
