Civil Services examination is conducted by the UPSC every year for selection of candidates to different services like IAS, IPS, IRS etc.

This is one of the toughest examination of India because of the fact that number of vacancies are in very less and number of candidates applying for the exam is very large.

Eligibility criteria for the Civil Services examination:

1. Academic/ Educational Qualification:

>>Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

You just need to score passing percentage of marks in bachelor's degree.

2. Age criteria:

General candidates: 21-32 years.

OBC candidates: 21-35 years.

SC/ST candidates: 21-37 years.

Examination pattern:

The first stage of the exam is the preliminary examination, second stage is the mains exam, and the last stage is the personal interview.

You can take Telugu as optional subjects in the Civil Services mains examination but you can take Telugu as optional subject in literature.
