I am 19 years old and I am in engineering first year (computer science). I want to join Indian Navy after graduation. Please tell me details about the exams I need to appear.

To join navy you should first complete your graduation,after this you can go for it.Every year forms are released to join navy.To join navy apart your studies you should also maintain your physical fitness.There are certain physical standards from which you should match to join navy.your weight should be according to your height etc.

You can join for Indian Navy after the graduation by appearing the CDS exam
The CDS exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.
After the CDS exam there will be SSB interview conducted to know the physical fitness of the candidates and for the personal tests.

The age limit to enter in to the Indian Navy is 19 – 24.

Hello friend,

Depending on entry you are looking for, different entry procedures will be there. For every naval job entry they'll announce dates. Better, you surf the navy websites www.indiannavy.nic.in, www.nausena-bharti.nic.in.

For example if you are pursuing B-tech, you are eligible to enter navy as an engineer in the final year of your engineering, under University Entry Scheme. First you have to apply through on-line(Mostly in b/w may- June). Team short lists the candidates based on their academic requirements. Short listed candidates will get call letters with in the gap of one month. They have to appear for interview(as like as campus interview), in the mentioned place. There they'll check your subject knowledge. After that, they'll again make a short-list based on performance.

The Short-listed students are eligible for appearing SSB interview(will be conducted 5 dyas). After SSB interview, you'll have medical exams, after which they'll allow you for training. This is the entry procedure.

Moreover this comes under Short Service Commission(SSC). You can serve as an engineer(or any) up to 10 years. Looking at your dedication or working skills they may extend it further to 4 years.

Technical Branch
Engineering
• Branch (Marine Engineers)
• 10+2 (Tech) Cadet Entry-Permanent Commission
• Age: Men in the age group of 16½-19 years.
• Education: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Maths (min 70 per cent marks in aggregate of PCM, min 50 per cent marks in English either in 10th or 12th class)

Engineering

• Age: Men in the age group 19 ½-25 years.
